Live at Zedel Announces September 2017 Season

Live at Zédel, Soho's unique live entertainment concept at The Crazy Coqs, announces their September programme ahead of the Autumn/Winter season launch later this summer.

Produced in partnership with Fane Productions Ltd, Live at Zédel's September programme is heaving with new talent and established acts across all disciplines including live music, musical theatre, cabaret, comedy and spoken word. Highlights include Sir Michael Parkinson, the nation's best loved interviewer for 'An Evening With...', the return of a residency slot from internationally acclaimed singer, pianist and songwriter Joe Stilgoe with his much-anticipated new show and Mad Men star Bryan Batt's one-man cabaret show.

September's programme features three other residencies including cabaret with The Black Cat "Salon Des Artisties" who begin a Friday night residency, The Night, on the first Monday of every month and Howard Sanditen's Open Mic Party, monthly on Thursdays.

Cabaret show highlights include Broadway veteran and star of Mad Men, Bryan Batt, presenting his one-man show paying tribute to his life growing up in New Orleans and Gary Williams, star of West End's Rat Pack, celebrating some of Hollywood's greatest musical moments with At The Movies. Other highlights include Marcel Lucont's Cabaret Fantastique who returns with his feast of alternative international cabaret and, straight from playing the Young Judy Garland in the West End, Lucy Penrose makes her London cabaret debut in the new show Judy and I.

Comedy shows include The Guardian's TV columnist Viv Groskop with her new news-based project Anchorwoman and the British-born Toronto-based musical siblings Flo & Joan with Friends. >From NYC comedy improv show Villain: DeBlanks make their Live at Zédel debut. Also taking to the stage in September is Daniel Cainer with More Gefilte Fish & Chips; his smart and funny observational comedy.


Live Music highlights include Gwyneth Herbert, who returns to Live at Zédel to give two exclusive preview performances of her forthcoming album, as well as internationally acclaimed vocalist Gwyn Jay Allen with I Love Louis - his remarkable tribute to the music of Louis Armstrong. Paul Ryan and Kenny Clayton return to celebrate the contribution that jazz pianists have made to the Great American Songbook and Peter Straker takes to the Zédel stage, straight from a sell-out tour with the legendary hit musical Tommy.

Musical Theatre highlights include, direct from NYC, award-winning theatre composer Joey Contreras, with his blend of contemporary musical theatre and pop music, Ryan Scott Oliver, with the European Premiere of We Foxes Come in a one-night-only concert reading. Live at Zédel also welcome Laurence Owen and Lindsay Sharman with their musical interpretation of H.G. Wells' The Time Machine, direct from a run at the Edinburgh Festival and Jason Carr and Friends in Somethin' Good, which sees the twice Tony-nominated orchestrator and composer/lyricist take to the stage with songs and anecdotes from his wide-ranging career.

The September season comes off the back of a packed August that includes Robert J. Sherman's thrilling homage to The Sherman Brothers, A Spoonful of Sherman, Olivier Award winners Jonathan Dagleish and George Maguire on stage together for the first time since Sunny Afternoon and Kerry Ellis making her Live at Zédel debut.
