Good Night Out Presents the World Premiere of PAY AS YOU GO, by Steven Hevey 20th July - 14th August 2010 (PRESS NIGHT: FRIDAY 23rd JULY at 7pm)

Directed by Samuel Miller; Designed by Jemima Carter-Lewis, Lighting Design by Steve Lowe
An epic tale of one man's desperate attempt to find renewed meaning in his life

Mark is the manager of a mobile phone retailer. Every day he discusses talk time plans, unlimited texts, and free minutes, without giving a thought to what it is he is actually doing. His job is not to question customers' motivation, his priority is to sell the public what they want; but with the arrival of Emma, the new work experience girl, Mark is reminded just how important those minutes are. Time is running out.

"I'm just sick of it you know. That routine. That life. It's like we sell these things to help people talk and we end up just shutting people off."

Playwright STEVEN HEVEY is a graduate of the Royal Court and Soho Theatre Young Writers Programmes, He participated in Paines Plough's Future Perfect 2008 attachment scheme and was the recipient of a Peggy Ramsey Foundation Award. His first professionally produced, full length play In My Name transferred to the West End after a sell out run at The Old Red Lion in Islington. In July 2009, Steven's play Wish You Were Here was produced at the Oval House Theatre. This year Steven's short play My Little Prince was performed at the Bush Theatre whilst in June American new writing company Super Wolf presented a reading of In My Name, directed by Sherri Kronfeld, at the Brecht Forum, New York as part of the 9.13 project.

He specialises in working with emerging playwrights, previously collaborating with alumni of the Royal Court, Soho Theatre, and Paines Plough new playwrights' programmes.
