VIDEO: Veteran Toronto Star Theatre Critic Richard Ouzounian Visits THE AGENDA on TVO
Richard Ozounian, the veteran theatre critic of 15 years at the Toronto Star wrote his last review over the holiday season. It was fitting that the final show he reviewed was the one that brought him to Toronto to work with Hal Prince on its now legendary Canadian debut: The Phantom of the Opera.
Ouzounian sat down with Steve Paiken on The Agenda for a "tell all" interview and to look back upon his career. He names his favourite productions, discusses his love for theatre, and even addresses some moments he wishes he could rewrite.
Before working at The Star, Ouzounian had his own show on TVO where he interviewed legendary performers and top Canadian talent. Archival copies of that show, Dialogue, can be found online here: http://tvo.org/archive-programs/dialogue.
