What hasn't Dolly Parton achieved in her illustrious 50+ year career? Best known as a country music legend, Parton is also an author, philanthropist and a twelve time Hall of Fame inductee. But it was her silver screen debut which spawned the award-winning film, "9 to 5". Box office sales exceeded $103 million gross and Dolly's #1 hit single "9 to 5" topped the billboard charts for two months in 1981.

Nearly thirty years after the film ended its successful run, 9 to 5 the Musical made its Broadway debut garnering 15 Drama Desk Award Nominations and 4 Tony Award Nominations. The musical version of the film encapsulates the workplace social structure of the 1980's and highlights the trials women faced in the office. The musical will surely bring a smile to your face as it addresses these issues with the hilarity which made the film such a huge success.

On the heels of record ticket sales for Shrek, The Musical, The Wagon Wheel Theatre is gaining praise as the professional region theatre in Northeast Indiana. Directed and staged by our award winning professional staff, 9 to 5, The Musical is sure to be a delight. Libby Schneider who portrays Doralee Rhodes (originated by Dolly Parton) believes women and men will love the show and find their characters endearing.

"It's really interesting to see how these three different women relate to this crazy, egotistical boss. I think 9 to 5, The Musical is a great underdog/Cinderella story and something I love about Doralee is that she doesn't take any crud from anybody and she just who she is no matter what!"

9 to 5, The Musical runs June 19th through the 29th only at the Wagon Wheel Theatre. Tickets for tickets range from $16-$34. Discounts are available for college students and on designated performances for seniors. For more information visit wagonwheeltheatre.org or call 574-267-8041.
