In 1867, Charles Dickens came to America to give a reading tour of his beloved story, "A Christmas Carol" where he acted out every role. One critic at the time said, "Dickens was like an entire theater company...under one hat."

The readings were so successful that Dickens achieved the status of a "rock star" with throngs of people clamoring to get into his sold out shows. Now 150 years later, actor Scot Shepley recreates the excitement of a Dickens reading when he performs "Charles Dickens Reads 'A Christmas Carol.'" Using the same text that Dickens used, all the cherished characters come to life in this tour de force of a performance now in its fourth annual presentation.

Performances are Friday, December 18 at 7:30PM and Sunday, December 20 at 2:00PM at the Acting Ensemble's Studio 217, 217 S. Michigan Street, South Bend. Suitable for the whole family, tickets are $7. For more information, visit actingensemble.com.
