Just last night, Roundabout Theatre Company welcomed Kelli O'Hara (Lilli Vanessi), Will Chase (FrEd Graham), Robert Fairchild (Bill), Helene Yorke (Lois), Chuck Cooper (Harry Trevor/Baptista), Norm Lewis (Harrison), Richard Kind (Gangster) and John Pankow (Gangster) for a one-night-only Benefit Concert Reading of Kiss Me, Kate, with music and lyrics by Cole Porter and book by Sam and Bella Spewack, music direction by Patrick Vaccariello and choreography by Warren Carlyle. Roundabout's Associate Artistic Director, Scott Ellis, directed this special event. (more...)

A rousing, bawdy Southern fairytale from the Pulitzer Prize-winning author of Driving Miss Daisy, with one of the only genuine bluegrass scores ever heard in a Broadway musical. Set in eighteenth century Mississippi, the show follows Jamie Lockhart, a rascally robber of the woods, as he courts Rosamund, the only daughter of the richest planter in the country. The proceedings go awry, however, thanks to a case of double-mistaken identity. Throw in an evil stepmother, intent on Rosamund's demise, and her pea-brained henchman, and you have a rollicking country romp. With its distinct sound, colorful cast and unique form of storytelling, The Robber Bridegroom is a hidden gem! (more...)

The Off Broadway Alliance, the organization of Off Broadway producers, theaters, general managers, press agents and marketing professionals, presented the 6th annual Off Broadway Alliance Awards on June 21st at Sardi's, honoring outstanding achievement in Off Broadway theatre for the 2015 - 2016 season. Honorees were on hand to receive their awards and Anne Jackson & Eli Wallach, Anne Meara, and Elizabeth Swados were posthumously inducted into the Off Broadway Hall of Fame.
