Last night The York Theatre Company honored the musical theatre writing team of Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt in a Fantastick gala concert and award ceremony directed by Richard Jay-Alexander. CEK Productions presents the World Premiere of WHEN JAZZ HAD THE BLUES, book by Carole Eglash-Kosoff, musical direction and arrangements by Rahn Coleman, choreography by Cassie Crump and direction by John Henry Davis. Last night Cafe Carlyle welcomed back GRAMMY Award-winner Steve Tyrell for a four-week engagement and BroadwayWorld was there for opening night. The renowned singer returns with a new show, One More For The Road, featuring a full set of Sinatra favorites in celebration of Ol' Blue Eyes' 100th birthday. It's a fitting tribute since it was actually a Sinatra song, 'The Way You Look Tonight,' that Tyrell sang in the 1991 movie, Father of the Bride, which launched his career as a singer. Years later, the Sinatra family handpicked Tyrell to perform 'Fly Me To The Moon' at the Hollywood Bowl, with Quincy Jones conducting the orchestra, when the Chairman was inducted into their Hall of Fame in 2005. Tyrell's ties to the Sinatra family remain tight as he was once again asked to host a three-hour celebration on Siriusly Sinatra on Frank's actual birthday, December 12. He will be live from Patsy's for Sirius XM radio, just as he did in 2014.

Belarus Free Theatre -- the internationally-acclaimed troupe said by Sir Tom Stoppard to 'defy gravity' -- returns to New York with the U.S. premiere of TRASH CUISINE at La MaMa'sEllen Stewart Theatre (66 E. 4 St.) in Manhattan. This NY presentation of TRASH CUISINE is produced by La MaMa, and is a continued collaboration with The Public Theater in support of Belarus Free Theatre.

Rehearsals have started for 'A Parallelogram,' the riveting new play by Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winner Bruce Norris. Directed by Tony Award-winner Anna D. Shapiro, 'A Parallelogram' will be presented at the Taper, July 10 through August 18, 2013. The opening is scheduled for July 21. From 12 November 2012 Killian Donnelly will join the cast of Billy Elliot the Musical to play Billy's brother Tony. York Theatre Company is celebrating the legendary librettist and lyricist Tom Jones with Musicals in Mufti: The Tom Jones Festival this spring. First up was Roadside, with Book & Lyrics by Tom Jones and Music by Harvey Schmidt. Directed by David Glenn Armstrong, the cast featured original Roadside cast member Ryan Alexander, Erick Devine (Seussical), Janine DiVita (Odyssey, The Musical), Jamie LaVerdiere (The Producers), Daniel C. Levine (Les Miserables), Ed Watts (The Fantasticks) and Nick Wyman (The Phantom of the Opera).

To break the spell, the Beast must learn to love and be loved. Belle could be his chance, if only the Beast can control his anger and find the heart that he never had as a man. But time is running out and if he does not learn his lesson soon, he will be doomed to live in isolation for all eternity.

Sara Jean Ford performed her cabaret show 'It's About Time' as a benefit of BC/EFA on January 2nd at Davenport's in Chicago. The show was produced and directed by 'Jersey Boys' Drew Gehling and featured the music of Will Reynolds and Eric Price.

On May 6th, Anthony Fedorov attended a celebration for his Off-Broadway debut, 22nd birthday and for the 47th birthday of The Fantasticks, in which he currently stars as Matt.

Rehearsals began today, Monday, August 21st, for Monty Python's Spamalot, the Tony Award-winning Best Musical of 2005, which comes home to London in October 2006

'Harold & Maude: The Musical' opened on January 9 at Paper Mill Playhouse. The world premiere stars Estelle Parsons, Eric Millegan, Donna English, Donna Lynne Champlin and Danny Burstein.
