It's time to rock out because this week marks the tenth anniversary of the Tony-nominated musical Rock of Ages opening and bringing the Sunset Strip to Broadway's Brooks Atkinson Theatre! To celebrate the occasion, we're throwing it back to that rocking night as Constantine Maroulis, Amy Spanger, Wesley Taylor, and more took their first bows! Check out all the footage below!

On this day in 2009. Rock of Ages enjoyed a heavy metal Broadway opening at the Brooks Atkinson Theater. 

As BroadwayWorld previously reported, the five-time Tony Award-nominated Rock of Ages announced today that 'Big Brother' star Frankie J. Grande will return to Broadway in the smash-hit musical beginning November 10, 2014. Grande will star in the role of 'Franz' - the free-spirited son of German developer Hertz Klineman, who threatens to tear down the Sunset Strip - through January 18, 2015. Happy Birthday Jeremy Jordan! This year, Jordan was nominated for a Tony Award for his role as Jack Kelly in NEWSIES, which he began with Paper Mill Playhouse's U.S. touring production in 2011. Jordan has also appeared in Broadway's Bonnie & Clyde in 2011, as well as Rock of Ages and West Side Story in 2009. He guest-starred on Law & Order: SVU in 2008 and appeared in the film Joyful Noise. He will soon appear on the upcoming second season of NBC's SMASH.

The American premiere of John Doyle's Ten Cents a Dance opens today on the Williamstown Theatre Festival (WTF) Main Stage. The refined production of the new Rodgers and Hart musical, which Doyle first conceived at England's Watermill Theatre, marks the first time a new musical has ever been presented on WTF's Main Stage. Ten Cents a Dancewill be the final presentation on the Main Stage for the 2011 Season at WTF, running August 11, 2011 through August 28, 2011 and opening August 12, 2011 at 7:30 p.m.Ten Cents a Dance is a co-production with McCarter Theatre Center. Performances at McCarter Theatre Center begin September 9, 2011. Conceived and directed by Tony Award-winner John Doyle (Sweeney Todd, Company), using the songs of Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart, Ten Cents a Dance features a dazzling cast of WTF friends and favorites including Diana DiMarzio (Sweeney Todd) as Miss Jones Four, Tony Award-nominee Malcolm Gets (Anything Goes at WTF; Amour) as Johnny, Tony Award-winner Donna McKechnie (The Threepenny Opera at WTF; A Chorus Line) as Miss Jones Five, Lauren Molina (Rock of Ages;Sweeney Todd) as Miss Jones One, Jane Pfitsch (Company; The 39 Steps) as Miss Jones Two, and Jessica Tyler Wright (Sweeney Todd; Company) as Miss Jones Three.

ROCK OF AGES, which opened in Melbourne to standing ovations and five star reviews, will open in Sydney at the Theatre Royal on 14 January 2012 for a strictly limited season.

DreamWorks Theatricals and Neal Street Productions, Ltd. are presenting SHREK THE MUSICAL, with book and lyrics by David Lindsay-Abaire and music by Jeanine Tesori, at the San Diego Civic Theatre through Sunday, July 10, 2011. Performances began July 5.

After a breif hiatus, ROCK OF AGES re-opened at the Helen Hayes Theatre on Broadway on March 24. The five-time Tony Award nominated musical played its final performance at The Brooks Atkinson Theatre on Sunday, January 9, 2011. In the midst of finishing up Footloose and filming Rock of Ages in Miami, Julianne Hough found some time to support the American Humane Association at the VA Medical Center in Manhattan, giving a concert for patients with therapy dogs. While on hand, Hough helped launch the American Humane Association's voting campaign for the inaugural 'Hero Dog Awards.' CESAR Canine Cuisine will be making donations to the American Humane Association for each vote cast for a favorite dog hero at www.HeroDogAwards.org, helping to promote the use of therapy dogs to those in need. Hough spoke with Entertainment Tonight about the project, making sure to also reiterate how much fun the cast and crew are having in Miami on the ROCK OF AGES set.

The City of New York and the United States Navy and Fleet Week Committee celebrated the 24th annual Fleet Week, last week through May 30, 2011. Fleet Week is America's premier tribute and 'thank you' to the men and women who serve in the armed forces. On Friday, May 27, cast members from current Broadway shows PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT, ANYTHING GOES, JERSEY BOYS, CHICAGO, MAMMA MIA and ROCK OF AGES performed for the troops. Constantine Maroulis and Rebecca Faulkenberry took ROCK OF AGES to DANCING WITH THE STARS tonight. Hosted by Tom Bergeron ('America's Funniest Home Videos') and Brooke Burke ('Dancing with the Stars' Season Seven Champion), the celebrities perform choreographed dance routines which will be judged by renowned Ballroom judge Len Goodman and dancer/choreographers Bruno Tonioli and Carrie Ann Inaba.

LUCKY GUY will begin on Thursday, April 28, 2011 and continue through Sunday, July 24, 2011 at the Little Shubert Theatre (422 West 42nd Street, between 9th & Dyer Avenues).
