ROCK OF AGES, which opened in Melbourne to standing ovations and five star reviews, will open in Sydney at the Theatre Royal on 14 January 2012 for a strictly limited season.

ROCK OF AGES is a feel-good love story told through the hit songs: ‘I Want to Know What Love Is', ‘Don't Stop Believin', ‘High Enough', ‘The Final Countdown', ‘We Built This City' and ‘More Than Words' by iconic rockers Foreigner, Journey, Styx, REO Speedwagon, Poison, Starship, Pat Benatar, Whitesnake, and many more.

Set in 1987 on the Sunset Strip, Drew is a big-city dreamer who desperately wants to be a rocker, and works in L.A.'s most legendary club. He meets Sherrie, and they fall in love to the greatest songs of the ‘80s. It's an awesomely good time where big hair meets big dreams in a rock comedy romance.

"After a great season in Melbourne to enthusiastic audiences standing, singing and dancing along every night, ROCK OF AGES is thrilled to make its way to Sydney. ROCK OF AGES is a cross between concert, the best of musical theatre and comedy- come and party - what a way to start the year off!" said Producer Rodney Rigby.

The cast of ROCK OF AGES is led by Amy Lehpamer and Justin Burford, who have taken Melbourne by storm and rocked their ways into the hearts of everyone who attends the show.

With a couple of ARIAs under his belt, an APRA nomination for ‘Song of the Year', record sales reaching Platinum status and sold out tours in Australia and internationally with his band End Of Fashion, the Herald Sun calls Justin Burford "hugely appealing" and The Age writes "what a superb voice-like honey with gravel in it."

Amy Lehpamer, who has been critically acclaimed as "impressive," "superb," and "terrific," plays Sherrie. Amy's theatre credits include Malthouse/Victorian Opera's acclaimed The Threepenny Opera, and Eddie Perfect's Shane Warne The Musical. Amy is featured in the HBO/Dreamworks series The Pacific.

The ROCK OF AGES cast includes - Francine Cain, Emma Clark, Brendan Coustley, Rachel Dunham, Alexander Ellis, Samantha Hagen, Lincoln Hall, Anthony Harkin, Melanie Hawkins, Brent Hill, Shaye Hopkins, John O'Hara, Jensen Overend, Thern Reynolds, Ellen Sutton, David Whitney and marks the return to the Australian stage for Michael Falzon, whom the Herald Sun says "lends sexual charisma to monstrously vain Stacee Jaxx."

ROCK OF AGES was nominated for five Tony Awards®, including Best Musical, Best Actor in a Musical, Best Direction of a Musical, Best Costume Design of a Musical, and Best Sound Design for a Musical. New Line Records released the Original Broadway Cast Recording in June 2009; it features 28 songs from the show.

ROCK OF AGES is now playing on Broadway Across America on a U.S. National Tour, played Toronto in 2010 and will open in London in September 2011. ROCK OF AGES is now being made into a major motion picture starring Tom Cruise, Alec Baldwin, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and Russell Brand.

ROCK OF AGES is currently playing in Melbourne. It will open a limited season in Brisbane on 13 November before coming to Sydney.
