Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts (PTPA) is proud to present 'A Night of Beautiful Music' performed by HBO 'Sopranos' star and 'Godfather' actor Dominic Chianese on Saturday, April 11, at 7 p.m. Dominic Chianese was born in the borough of the Bronx in New York, the son of a bricklayer. His grandfather immigrated to the United States from Naples, Italy, in 1904 and settled in the Bronx. After a decade of attending college and appearing in Off-Broadway theatre, Chianese attended his first professional acting class at HB Studio in Manhattan, with renowned teacher Walt Witcover. Drama and musical theatre became Chianese's passion. His first Broadway show was 'Oliver!' in 1965. Chianese also played rhythm guitar and sang in local taverns and restaurants to supplement his income. (more...)

THE LAST SHIP played its final performance on Broadway on Saturday, January 24, but fans still have another chance to catch the cast in action. Tonight, March 2 (9:30PM), they will reunite at 54 Below for 'Songs in the Quay of Life: THE LAST SHIP Company in Concert.' The original cast and band will celebrate their run with an eclectic evening themed around seafaring songs. Proceeds will go to support Wallsend Boys Club in the north of England, which was founded by shipbuilders. (more...)

'When Black Boys Die,' written and directed by William Electric Black, is a new drama about a teenage girl's journey as she tries to understand the madness of gun violence that has killed her brother and consumed her mother (and so many other mothers who have also lost their sons to inner city violence). It is the second in a series of five plays by William Electric Black, to be collectively called 'GUNPLAYS,' that address inner city violence and guns. 'All Gone West,' a new play by John Attanas, transports us to the New York jazz scene of the early 50's. An Army vet, in love with a secretary at CCNY, would win her by setting up a be-bop club on Ninth Avenue with the help of a black saxophonist he has befriended in the service and a couple of low-lives he has met along the way. The couple's story is one of dreams dashed and fulfilled; love denied and embraced. The play features a cast of six plus a live, four-piece jazz ensemble. Jonathan Fluck, former Executive Director of IRT Theatre, will produce and direct the play's world premiere run March 28 to April 18, 2015 at Teatro Circulo, 64 East 4th Street (East Village).
