The Public Extends ARGUENDO Through 10/27

The Public Theater (Artistic Director, Oskar Eustis; Executive Director, Patrick Willingham) announced a second two-week extension for the critically acclaimed world premiere of Elevator Repair Service's ARGUENDO, directed by John Collins. ARGUENDO began performances on Tuesday, September 10, and was originally extended through October 13. The show officially opened on Tuesday, September 24, and will now run an additional two weeks through Sunday, October 27. (more...)

Back in February, when Theatre Under the Stars (TUTS) announced their 2013-2014 season, Bruce Lumpkin, TUTS' Artistic Director, gave BroadwayWorld an exclusive heads up about an exciting development that was occurring within the organization. Now TUTS is ready to announce their exhilarating new project, an invigorating and diverse season of fresh, edgy musical theatre called TUTS Underground. This season will run in The Hobby Center for the Performing Arts' intimate Zilkha Hall and feature innovative modern works. According to Bruce Lumpkin, the intended audience for this line up is "a contemporary minded audience, an audience looking for something new, something different than what's been offered." Barton does just that in The Other Side Of Bad, available on Amazon.com today. Barton doesn't believe that anyone starts out on the dark side, but knows the symptoms. In The Other Side Of Bad, the first of the Tucker Series, he tells the story of Tucker's transformation from his secret and violent past into a twenty-first century protector and problem-solving gunfighter. He struggles to reconcile the healing love of his childhood-sweetheart with mind-wrecking survival guilt from her bloody death. Thus, the Tucker Series is the semi-autobiographical story of Tucker's re-genesis and the philosophy he adopts to embrace fate. (more...)
