The American Theatre Wing and The Village Voice announce that Tony Award-nominated and three-time Obie-winning actress Kathleen Chalfant will receive a special Obie Award for Lifetime Achievement at the 63rd Annual Obie Awards.

Those foot-stopping aggies, those friendly ladies of the night (and day), Miss Mona, Sherriff Ed Earl Dodd, the side-stepping Governor, and master media manipulator Melvin P. Thorpe will populate Broadway in the brand-new production of the Larry L. King - Pete Masterson - Carol Hall musical The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas.

Featuring Broadway stars Kathleen Chalfant (Wit, Angels in America), Terry Beaver (Henry IV, The Last Night of Ballyhoo), Ellen McLaughlin (Angels in America) and Carla Harting (Eurydice),joined by Helen Hedman and James Slaughter, A Delicate Balance runs February 6-March 15, 2009 at Arena Stage in Crystal City. Epic Theatre Ensemble (formerly Epic Theatre Center) announced that celebrated actor and activist Kathleen Chalfant will play the lead role of 'Riddler' in the New York premiere of A Hard Heart, a play by Howard Barker, directed by Will Pomerantz

Over the course of the year, six of New York's most promising and innovative emerging artists have created new works which will culminate in repertory presentations during The New, New Stuff, April 28-May 15, 2005.
