The Laurie Beechman Theatre announce that Tony Award-winner Donna McKechnie, one of Broadway's most beloved and esteemed performers, will present the New York premiere of her critically-acclaimed solo show, My Musical Comedy Life, at the midtown venue for one performance only, Wednesday, July 28th at 8pm.

Great Entertainers on Broadway, a summer series of live performances scheduled for late July and early August at the Times Square Arts Center (TSAC) has been cancelled, it was announced today by Herbert G. Goldman, the series producer.

Broadway Tony-Award winning star Donna McKechnie debuted her brand-new incarnation of MY MUSICAL COMEDY LIFE in Australia, directed by Richard Jay-Alexander and presented by the Adelaide Cabaret Festival. She has wow-ed audiences, garnering rave reviews and multiple standing ovations in both Adelaide and Melbourne and now, just one stop remains in Sydney on Thursday, June 24th (see below for ticketing information), with the touring production presented by David M. Hawkins in association with the Adelaide Cabaret Festival. Paula Brancati, Lauren Collins, Wendy Crewson, Cynthia Dale, Andrea Martin, and Louise Pitre are officially set to be the first cast of the Toronto production of LOVE, LOSS, AND WHAT I WORE. As in the initial New York staging of the play by Nora and Delia Ephron, the production will feature a company of six that rotates in four-week cycles. The cast will include Brendan Averett, Polly Noonan, Daniel Pearce, Alex Podulke, Keith Reddin, Godfrey L. Simmons Jr., T. Ryder Smith, Felix Solis Jr., Kate Turnbull and Nicole Wiesner.

The Irish Arts Center and 1407 Productions LLC announce a world premiere concert performance of TRANSPORT, a new musical by Thomas Keneally and Larry Kirwan, directed by Tony Walton, as part of the Irish Arts Center New Plays Partnership Series.

The Canadian Stage Company presents 'Art' a witty, razor-sharp play that explores the nature of friendship while examining the definition of art. Written by Yasmina Reza, 'Art' has achieved spectacular success. It has been translated into at least 35 languages and won numerous awards. The production stars Colin Mochrie (Whose Line is It Anyway?, CTV/ ABC) as Serge, Peter Donaldson (And So It Goes, Factory; Hysteria, Canadian Stage) as Marc and Evan Buliung (Cloud 9, Mirvish Productions; The House of Martin Guerre, Canadian Stage) as Yvan and is directed by Morris Panych (7 Stories, The Overcoat, Canadian Stage). 'Art' runs March 15 to April 10, 2010 (media night: March 18) at the Bluma Appel Theatre, 27 Front Street East, Toronto.

Rehearsals begin today, Monday, April 5 for the World Premiere production of PARADISE FOUND, a new musical under the combined direction of Theater legend and 21-time Tony Award winner Harold Prince (the original productions of Cabaret, Sweeney Todd, A Little Night Music, The Phantom of the Opera, Company, Follies, Evita) and 5-time Tony Award winner Susan Stroman (Crazy For You, Show Boat, The Producers, Contact). This is their first collaboration since the landmark, Tony Award-winning revival of Show Boat. Following the New York rehearsal period, the production will open at London's acclaimed Menier Chocolate Factory with performances running May 19 through June 26.
