The critically acclaimed Donmar Warehouse production of RED, a new American play by John Logan about the master of twentieth century abstract impressionism, Mark Rothko, will open on Broadway on Thursday, April 1 for a limited 15-week engagement at the Golden Theatre (252 West 45th Street between Broadway and Eighth Avenue), it was announced today by producer Arielle Tepper Madover. Previews will begin on Thursday, March 11.

The State Theatre Center for the Arts has announced the participating schools for the 2010 FREDDY© Awards program. The event recognizes and rewards exceptional accomplishments in the production and performance of musical theater in high schools in Lehigh and Northampton Counties, Pennsylvania, and Warren County, New Jersey.

Broadway stars Jane Krakowski, Maureen McGovern, and Linda Eder will join previously announced Tyne Daly and Betty Buckley with performance at Feinstein's at Regency in 2010. Krakowski will appear from May 4th through 15th and Eder from April 6th through 17th, while McGovern will present her cabaret show A Long and Winding Road for two performances on February 8th.

YALE REPERTORY THEATRE (James Bundy, Artistic Director; Victoria Nolan, Managing Director) announces complete casting and the creative team for the world premiere of POP!, a new musical with book and lyrics by Maggie-Kate Coleman and music by Anna K. The New York Philharmonic will present SONDHEIM: The Birthday Concert on March 15 and Tuesday, March 16, 2010, at 7:30 p.m. This celebration of the 80th birthday of the great Broadway and film composer/lyricist will include his most enduring orchestral music and songs - performed, in some cases, by the stars of the original Broadway cast productions - in addition to rarely-heard material.
