After all, the musical comedy is based on the real-life story of a woman who wrote this show while going through her own divorce from a Broadway producer, who left her for a much younger woman.

The Al Hirschfeld Foundation has just learned that never before available works by legendary artist Al Hirschfeld (1903 - 2003) are featured in today's January 24 Swann Galleries auction.
Swann Auction Galleries will offer a selection of Broadway drawings by caricaturist Al Hirschfeld during its sale of 20th Century Illustration on January 24. Among the Hirschfeld highlights is a signed and inscribed drawing of Fanny Brice Singing 'Modernistic Moe,' in the Ziegfeld Follies of 1936 (estimate: $3,000 - 4,000). This is one of the earliest Broadway illustrations.
