by BWW News Desk - Aug 9, 2013

In TRIASSIC PARQ: THE MUSICAL, an unexpected… umm… "protuberance" on a previously-female T-Rex brings chaos and division to the dino tribe. In search of an explanation for this growing problem, an adventurous and naive young Velociraptor appeals to Science and Faith for answers. Featuring power ballads, Veloci-rapping, and dinosaur roars, TRIASSIC PARQ is a sexy, gender-bending rock musical about how "life finds a way." (more...)

Are you as in love with this Moschino dress as I am? I saw this photo of Julianne Hough the other day but I filed it away until the time was right. And I thought Friday was just the day to gush. This dress combines so many gorgeous elements but it's not overdone, and it stays classic! Isn't that amazing that something is both trendy and classic all at once? I am in awe. (more...)

Breaking from tradition yet again, they had Catherine's father, Michael Middleton, photograph them instead of using a professional photographer to capture the happy family. BWW Reviews: Glass Mind's ANTIGONE Perfects the Art of Tragedy
by Giordana Segneri - Aug 17, 2013

No one writes theater like the Ancient Greeks; after all, they invented it (at least the western variety). I was reminded of this once again as I found myself lost in the high drama of Glass Mind Theatre's adaptation of Antigone, one of Sophocles' three plays revolving around Oedipus (he of psychological complex fame), king of Thebes, who unknowingly killed his father and then married his mother. And it only gets better from there. (more...)

Glass Mind Theatre Presents ANTIGONE, Now thru 8/25

'Bring water and movement clothes,' says Lynn Morton. When she tells them they'll be sweating for two to three hours, it's not for a hot yoga class, but Glass Mind's new adaptation of Sophocles' Antigone. Bound by fate, the titular heroine can either choose love and a life of privilege, or do what she feels is right - her decision is a matter of life-or-death. (more...)

FAR OUT! Lauren Fox and Friends Rock & Roll at 54 Below with a Reverential and Remarkable Woodstock Tribute Show
by Stephen Hanks - Aug 16, 2013

In cabaret, there are variety shows and there are VARIETY shows. Going on close to three years as a reviewer and attending a myriad of these affairs that can range in feel from Ed Sullivan to the Gong Show, I no longer have much patience for the lower case version. But every once in a while there's a multi-performer extravaganza that screams capital letters. It turns out that MAC-Award winning singer Lauren Fox has acquired the knack for staging 'Big V' variety shows because they are all about the themes, the stories, and the music, and not about the performers. And wouldn't you know it? With the egos being upstaged by everyone's joy and passion for the project, everybody wins . . . especially the audience. That was the case last night at 54 Below with the Fox produced 'One Night of Peace & Music: A Tribute to Woodstock.' (more...)

Fashion Photo of the Day 8/16/13 - Lily Collins
by Rachel Stone - Aug 16, 2013

Lily Colins was all smiles at the Q&A for her new film The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones in LA. The young starlet look chic and ladylike with a touch of edge in a sweater and skirt by Bec & Bridge. I love the slight shimmer in the knits and I applaud her mix of copper and platnum tones. I wouldn't have thought to do that but it seems so obvious looking at her outfit now. Collins finished off her look with metallic heels and minimal makeup proving that she is a keen sense of style. Fashion Photo of the Day 8/14/13 - Jennifer Aniston
by Rachel Stone - Aug 14, 2013

Jennifer - the 1980's called and they want their fashion back. I am so shocked by this very un-Jennifer Aniston look that I did a double take. Jen, what happened? What's wrong? Are you feeling blue so you needed to borrow a dress from your friend's tween's closet? I am sorry, that was harsh but, flowers and pleats and crazy messy hair? This is not the stylish, sleek, sexy Jennifer Aniston we all love! (more...)

Fashion Photo of the Day 8/12/13 - Hailee Steinfeld
by Rachel Stone - Aug 12, 2013

Hailee Steinfeld, I bow down at your fashion prowess. I will admit I was not familiar with House of Holland until I saw this picture from last night's Teen Choice Awards.
