The Theatre School at DePaul University is pleased to present OUR TOWN as the inaugural production at the new Theatre School building, located at Racine and Fullerton on the Lincoln Park Campus. The Fullerton Stage Theatre is a 250-seat thrust theatre located on the first floor of the school. Thornton Wilder's OUR TOWN is directed by Damon Kiely, premieres on Friday, October 4, and runs through Sunday, October 13, 2013. Performances are Wednesdays through Saturdays at 7:30 PM and Sundays at 2 PM. An additional matinee performance will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, October 5. The September 14 ABC Saturday Night Football Presented by Windows telecast - Notre Dame over Purdue 31-24 - helped ABC win the night across all networks among households, viewers and in all key male and adult demographics (18-34, 18-49 and 25-54). Anneliese van der Pol to Lead GHOSTLIGHT Reading, 12/2

'That's So Raven' star Anneliese van der Pol has joined the cast of the highly anticipated industry reading of Martin and Realbuto's Ghostlight. Van der Pol will play the central role of Olive Thomas, joining previously announced Tony Award nominee Robert Cuccioli (Jekyll and Hyde), Rachel Bay Jones (Pippin), Jennifer Hope Wills (Wonderful Town), Trevor McQueen (Annie Get Your Gun), and Kimberly Faye Greenberg (One Night With Fanny Brice). The industry reading will take place on December 2nd at the famed New 42nd Street Studios. Ghostlight had a sold out and extended run at the Signature Theatre in 2011 as part of NYMF. The show has been revamped since then. Alison Holman will provide musical direction for the upcoming reading. Matthew Martin and Tim Realbuto wrote the book, music, and lyrics, and will also co-direct, the same duty they performed during the NYMF production. (more...)

When asked if he had plans to return to the stage, he responded: 'You know, I'm looking. I actually am going to do something in the spring for a very short while - I won't go into it but I literally agreed to it about an hour ago. But yeah, I'm going to sing again in the spring, at least for a little bit. I'm trying to find something. This is the longest I've ever gone without doing a musical. It's been like 11 years.' I grew up in St. Louis, Missouri. My sisters took dance classes several nights a week, so it was easier for my Mom to just bring me along. I think I was about six when I started taking class. One weekend a bunch of the moms were taking their daughters to audition for The St. Louis MUNY and I tagged along. I marched in place and belted out 'You're a Grand Old Flag' at the top of my lungs and, to my delight and surprise, ended up being cast in the children's ensemble of Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella. I became addicted to performing almost instantaneously. I went on to do shows at The MUNY and other local theaters for many years to come. (more...)
