Excitement is building for Kansas City Rep's presentation of the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical Carousel, directed by Kyle Hatley, the theatre's associate artistic director. This is the musical theatre event that sparked delight in hearts of audience members and critics alike when it was first presented in 2011 by The Living Room (TLR), one of Kansas City's most imaginative small theatre companies. B Street Theatre's FANTASY FESTIVAL XXVII School Tour to Play Public Performance 4/27

This week The B Street Theatre School Tourproduction of Fantasy Festival XXVII hits the road. This is the 27th year that elementary and middle school students throughout northern California have submitted original plays to B Street Theatre's annual playwriting contest for young people. Out of over 150 plays submitted this year, just five have been selected for the tour. The show presentsall five winning plays at 144 assemblies in over 108 schools in northern California between March 18 and June 7, 2013, with a special public performance at the B Street Theatre on April 27 at 10:00 am. National Geographic to Adapt Bill O'Reilly's Upcoming Book KILLING JESUS

With the record-breaking success of the National Geographic Channel (NGC) factual drama of Bill O'Reilly's best-selling history 'Killing Lincoln,' NGC President Howard T. Owens announced today that the network will once again join forces with Scott Free Productions to produce a film based on 'Killing Jesus: A History,' the recently announced book from O'Reilly with co-author Martin Dugard, to be published by Henry Holt and Company on Sept. 24, 2013. The announcement comes as the network is also in pre-production on the film adaptation of 'Killing Kennedy,' expected to air globally on National Geographic Channels later this year. (more...)

The Arvada Center Announces Upcoming Season

The Arvada Center has announced its seven-play season of which three are regional premieres. The four musical, three play package is filled with popular titles and includes an ongoing collaboration with Creede Repertory Theatre. Subscription packages range in price from $182 to $400 and go on sale to Arvada Center subscribers and the general public on March 21. Single tickets for the 2013-14 theater season go on sale August 5. Subscribing donors giving at the $150 level or above by June 3 will receive a free guest voucher for each subscription. These vouchers can be used for theater performances in the 2013-14 season. Theatre at the Center Announces HAT A GLORIOUS FEELING Events

Paying homage to one of the greatest movie musicals of all time, What a Glorious Feeling comes to Theatre at the Center April 25 through June 2 at 1040 Ridge Road, Munster, with a press performance April 28 at 7 p.m. Creator Jay Berkow conceived the intimate show, which he calls 'a play with music' and an 'exploration of creative and romantic temperaments' set in the heyday of the MGM movie musicals. A revealing portrait of the late dancer-actor-director-choreographer Gene Kelly, this Chicago premiere production of What a Glorious Feeling will be directed by Theatre at the Center Artistic Director William Pullinsi with Choreography by Jeff Award-winning choreographer Danny Herman. Herman has choreographed over 50 productions nationally, including The National Tour of Dreamgirls, A Little Night Music and Another Midsummer Night at the Goodman, Elmer Gantry at Ford's Theatre and over a dozen productions at Candlelight Playhouse, including 5 Guys Named Moe and Song and Dance. Know Theatre of Cincinnati Presents COCK, Opening 4/12

Know Theatre has announced the regional premiere of COCK by Mike Bartlett as our next mainstage production. This will be only the second American production following its premiere at the Royal Court Theatre, London. COCK opens April 12, 2013 and runs through May 11, 2013. Brian Robertson, who currently teaches in the Theatre and Dance Department at Northern Kentucky University, will direct this production. Some of his past directing credits include Camelot at the Carnegie Visual and Performing Arts Center and A Flowering Tree at Cincinnati Opera.
