The F.U.D.G.E. Theatre Company is pleased to announce the first concert in a new series called New Voices for a Change. The premise behind the concert series is that each concert will feature the music of a young, new musical theatre composer and a portion of the proceeds of each concert will be donated to a local charity. This first concert will feature the music of Scott Alan, one of New York City's finest new composers. Blending musical theater and pop sounds, Mr. Alan creates music with amazing heart and character. With two albums already on the market, ('Dreaming Wide Awake' and 'Keys'), Mr. Alan is well on his way to becoming a very successful composer. A portion of the proceeds from the concert will be donated to the AIDS Action Comittee of Massachusetts, whose mission is to the stop the HIV/AIDS epidemic by preventing new infections and optimizing the health of those already infected. Oskar Eustis, Artistic Director of The Public Theater, has announced the 26-member Broadway cast of HAIR: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical. Newcomers to the cast include Gavin Creel, Caissie Levy and Sasha Allen, who join the rest of the tribe, who are reprising their roles from Central Park last summer. HAIR begins preview performances on Friday, March 6 at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre (302 West 45th Street, NYC) with an Opening Night set for Tuesday, March 31, 2009. (more...)

Due to personal reasons, previously announced Andrew Ceglio has withdrawn from the production and award-winning director Jay Manley feels that Robert Brewer is the perfect replacement. The Phoenix Theatre of Indianapolis will produce the world premiere of Jack O?Hara and Tim Brickley?s The Zippers of Zoomerville, or 200 Laps and a Lass: a mini-mockeretta in the Frank & Katrina Basile Theatre at the Phoenix May 7 through June 6, 2009. The book and lyrics are by Jack O?Hara, and the music is by Jack O?Hara and Tim Brickley. Jack O'Hara is a Nashville (IN) based writer, musician, comedian, actor, and director. In The Zippers of Zoomerville he has written a gentle send-up of all things Indy 500 -- but also a gentle send-up of all things Gilbert & Sullivan. (more...)

Hamingson) announced today that the first preview of Craig Lucas' THE SINGING FOREST has been moved to Friday, April 10 due to the need for additional technical rehearsals. Directed by Mark Wing-Davey, THE SINGING FOREST was scheduled to begin previews on Tuesday, April 7 and open on Monday, April 27. The show will now open on Tuesday, April 28 at 7 PM. (more...)

Bristol Riverside Theatre has announced a change to its final show of the 2008-2009 season and is pleased to present an original production of the Off-Broadway smash, Altar Boyz, from May 12 through May 31. BRT's production brings to Bristol two of the play's creators - Music Director Gary Adler, who co-wrote the music and lyrics, and Director and Tony-nominated Choreographer (and Bristol native) Christopher Gattelli, who handled the original Off-Broadway choreography. The Battery's Down, the hit online television series, will return for a second season on Wednesday, April 1, on YouTube featuring a slew of Broadway guest stars. Filmed in a style similar to Curb Your Enthusiasm or The Office, The Battery's Down chronicles the life of young actor Jake Wilson in New York City.
