Just in time to cheer up the holiday season and to welcome the New Year, producers Whoopi Goldberg, Stage Entertainment and Troika Entertainment announce casting for the North American Tour of five-time Tony Award® nominated musical SISTER ACT. SISTER ACT will play the Broward Center for the Performing Arts December 18 - 30 as part of the Bank of America Broadway in Fort Lauderdale subscription series.

Eric Anderson (Kinky Boots, South Pacific), Jack Doyle (Young Frankenstein, The Music Man), Marissa Perry (Sister Act, Hairspray) and David Perlman (Yank!, Baby It's You!) have joined the cast of UnsungMusicalsCo. (UMC)'s upcoming developmental reading of Sounds Like Love, a new comedy by Arnold B. Horwitt (Make Mine Manhattan, Plain and Fancy) featuring three original songs by Horwitt, Tony Award winner Albert Hague (Plain and Fancy, The Fig Leaves Are Falling) and Grammy Award winner Allan Sherman (The Fig Leaves Are Falling).

The Fred Ebb Foundation (Mitchell Bernard, Trustee) in association with the Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director) will present the eighth annual Fred Ebb Award for aspiring musical theatre songwriters to Sam Willmott. The award, named in honor of the late award-winning lyricist Fred Ebb, will be presented by David Hyde Pierce tonight, November 26th from 6-8pm at a by-invitation-only ceremony in the Penthouse Lobby of The American Airlines Theater.

Tonight, November 24th at the Keswick Theatre in PA, Jimmy Vivino (from Conan & The Fab Faux, Midnight Ramble) and Garth Hudson (founding member of The Band, The Last Waltz,) present SONGS of THE BAND from their first four albums and 'The Basement Tapes'. They'll be joined by members of The Band, Levon Helm Band (Midnight Ramble Band), and Dirt Farmer Band: Jim Weider, Randy Ciarlante and Byron Isaacs. Special guest: Sister Maud Hudson.

Ghostlight Records will release the Original Broadway Cast Recording of the Tony®-nominated musical, LEAP OF FAITH, featuring a roof-raising new score by Oscar® and Tony®- winning composer Alan Menken (Beauty and the Beast, Little Shop of Horrors) and Grammy®-winning lyricist Glenn Slater (Tangled), to digital outlets on December 4, 2012 and in stores on December 18, 2012. The Pasadena Playhouse announced the first four productions of the 2012 - 2013 season of its HOTHOUSE at The Playhouse new play development, staged reading series. The season will feature the world premiere reading of Lee Blessing's (A Walk in the Woods) A View of the Mountains starring Jane Kaczmarek and Betsy Brandt, Marsha Mason as the title role in Aunt Stossie's Coming for Five Days and Michael Arabian (Ovation nominee, Waiting for Godot) directing a new work supported by the Armenian Dramatic Arts Alliance.

Broadway star Marla Mindelle's (Cinderella, Sister Act) short film The Devil's Bitch has been named as an official selection in the 2012 Friar's Club Comedy Film Festival. This Christmas, the Lyric Hammersmith brings one of the most enchanting of all stories to life as Olivier Award-winning Artistic Director Sean Holmes directs his first ever pantomime: Cinderella.
