The pre-eminent leading man of Australian musical theatre, Anthony Warlow, will be joined by one of Australia's best-known stage and screen performers, the incomparable Gina Riley, when the pair join forces in this spectacular re-imagined concert version of the musical thriller SWEENEY TODD: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.

Hillbarn Theatre, the Peninsula's premier theatre company, announced today that the Demon Barber of Fleet Street will terrorize the streets of Foster City with Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler's bloody-fun musical thriller, Sweeney Todd.  Hailed as 'a staggering theater spectacle and more fun than a graveyard on the night of the annual skeleton's ball," (New York Daily News), Sweeney Todd will perform at Hillbarn Theatre (1285 East Hillsdale Blvd., Foster City) January 24-February 10, 2019. The performance schedule is as follows: Thursdays-Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday matinees at 2 p.m.; there will be no matinee Saturday, January 26. A concert production of Stephen Sondheim's dark musical masterpiece 'Sweeney Todd' will be presented at 2 and 7 p.m. Nov. 18 at Cedar Crest College's Samuels Theatre in Allentown, PA.The production, being billed as a concert event, is the first time the Friends of Cedar Crest Performing Arts will present a full-length musical. FCCPA, a group formed to support the performing arts at the college, has previously presented musical concerts involving both students and the community.

Media thrills audiences with Sondheim's 'cutting edge' thriller!

The Media Theatre, located at 104 East State Street in the beautiful suburb of Media, PA, has 'Sweeney Todd' as its 2018-19 Broadway Series Season opener now through Oct. 28. Directed by the theater's Artistic Director Jesse Cline, the show features a cast of professional actors from New York City, Philadelphia, and the surrounding region. Ben Kapilow music directs.

The original production was directed by William Pullinsi and starred Robert Cuccioli as the Phantom and Glory Crampton as Christine Daee. 'PHANTOM' returned to our stage in 1996 and 2007 directed and choreographed by Tom Polum, who had been in the original production. This extraordinary piece will grace our stage once again with Tom Polum at the helm.

The Tooting Arts Club production of Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler's Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street makes history today as it becomes the longest running production of Sweeney Todd on record. Today's performance marks 558, surpassing the 1979 Original Broadway Production directed by Hal Prince.

The Tooting Arts Club production of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street played its 500th performance last night, Sunday, April 29, at New York's Barrow Street Theatre (27 Barrow Street)

Theo Ubique's SWEENEY TODD: THE DEMON BARBER OF FLEET STREET, originally scheduled to close on April 29, has been extended and will now run through Sunday, May 20. The production earned rave reviews and has been playing to sold-out audiences since its opening on March 12. Philip Torre, Jacquelyne Jones and most of the original cast will remain with the production for the extension. Performance schedules remain unchanged, with the musical playing Thursdays through Saturdays at 7:30 pm and Sundays at 7 pm.  Tickets for the additional weeks are now on sale at www.theo-u.com.

Shakespeare Theatre Company today announces the cast of Lerner and Loewe's multiple Tony Award-winning musical Camelot. Directed by STC Associate Artistic Director Alan Paul (Kiss Me, Kate; Man of La Mancha), the classic musical will play at Sidney Harman Hall (610 F St NW) from May 22 through July 1, concluding STC's 2017-2018 mainstage season.
