The Hollywood Reporter just broke the news that Eddie Redmayne, known for his turn as 'Marius' in the 2012 Oscar-nominated film adaptation of LES MISERABLES, and Tom Hooper, who helmed LES MIS for the big screen, will be reuniting for an upcoming film called THE DANISH GIRL for Working Title.

Alfie Boe, who is internationally recognized for his tenor voice, first gained recognition in the US when he starred in Baz Luhrmann's LA BOHÈME. In 2010, he took on the role of Jean Valjean for the 25th Anniversary Concert of LES MISERABLES. Now, he is gearing up for the US release of his latest album, TRUST, and his appearance on Mr. Selfridge. Recently, I chatted with Alfie Boe about these projects and his career.

In August last year, about 700 Filipino theater fans' Facebook-based petition to bring the smash Broadway musical 'Wicked' to Manila was deemed successful; the 'Ozian' stage spectacle opened at the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) five months later, which ran 42 performances. In anticipation of LES MISERABLES coming back home to Broadway, I've been listening to LES MISERABLES LIVE! DREAM THE DREAM (The 2010 Cast Album). The beautiful, exciting, and comprehensive recording was captured at the Wales Millennium Centre in 2009. Written by Claude-Michel Schonberg, based on the novel by Victor Hugo, Les Miserables is set in early 19th-century France. The plot follows the stories of many characters as they struggle for redemption and revolution. An ensemble that includes prostitutes, student revolutionaries, factory workers, and others joins the lead characters. In January 2010, it played its ten-thousandth performance in London, at Queen's Theatre in London's West End. On 3 October 2010, the show celebrated its 25th anniversary with three productions running in the same city: the original show at London's West End; the Twenty-Fifth Anniversary touring production at the original home of the show, the Barbican Centre; and the Twenty-Fifth Anniversary concert at London's O2 Arena. The original Broadway cast included Colm Wilkinson as Jean Valjean, David Bryant as Marius, Judy Kuhn as Cosette, Michael Maguire as Enjolras, Frances Ruffelle as Eponine, Braden Danner as Gavroche, Donna Vivino as Young Cosette, Jennifer Butt as Madame Thenardier, Leo Burmester as Thenardier, Randy Graff as Fantine, and Terrence Mann as Javert.
