STC to Stage Heather Raffo's NOURA as Part of Women's Voices Theater Festival

As part of the second Women's Voices Theater Festival, Shakespeare Theatre Company presents the world-premiere production of Noura, a new play written by award-winning playwright and performer Heather Raffo (Nine Parts of Desire). Directed by Joanna Settle and featuring Raffo in the titular role, the play will run at the Lansburgh Theatre (450 7th Street NW) February 6 March 11, 2018.

Japan Society proudly presents the New York City premiere of SITI Company's striking interpretation of Yukio Mishima's play Hanjo, created and performed by the internationally acclaimed ensemble theater SITI Company, in a new English Translation by SITI Co-Artistic Director Leon Ingulsrud, who also directs. Arriving as part of the NOH-NOW Series within Japan Society's Fall 2017-Winter 2017 Performing Arts Season, coinciding with the Society's 110th Anniversary, this production will have three performances, December 7 9, at Japan Society (333 East 47th Street).

The United States premiere of Pine, by Jacqui Honess-Martin, directed by Arianna Soloway, December 1 10 in the outdoor Christmas Tree lot at Uncommon Ground Edgewater, 1401 W. Devon Ave. The press opening is Friday, Dec. 1 at 6 p.m. Performances are Fridays Sundays at 6 p.m. Tickets are $10 suggested donation or free with the purchase of a tree*. Tickets may be purchased at FestivePines.com. The running time is currently two hours including the intermission. PLEASE NOTE: Performances take place outdoors. Heaters and blankets are provided, food and drink available for purchase at Uncommon Ground, audience members are encouraged to dress warmly.
