Celebrate Leonard Bernstein's centennial with two premier jazz musicians. Known for his interpretations of classic American songs, pianist Bill Charlap and his trio is joined by rising-star vocalist C cile McLorin Salvant for an evening of Bernstein favorites.

Arden Theatre Company Cabaret Series presents Steve Pacek on Friday, February 2 and Saturday, February 3, 2018, at 8pm. Pacek performs THE MAN YOU MAY NOT KNOW in the Bob and Selma Horan Studio Theatre at the Hamilton Family Arts Center, 62 N. 2nd Street in Old City, Philadelphia. Baryshnikov Arts Center (BAC) opens its Spring 2018 Music Series with Anton Batagov and the Attacca Quartet on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at 7:30pm in the Jerome Robbins Theater. This varied evening of music features the World Premiere of Different Things from influential post-minimalist Russian composer and pianist Anton Batagov, paired with Beethoven's String Quartet Op. 18, No. 6. Batagov's Different Things will be performed by the composer (at the piano) and the Attacca Quartet, one of America's premier young string ensembles, along with Kris Saebo, double bass; Linda Jones, soprano; Luthien Brackett, mezzo soprano; Andrew Fuchs, tenor; and Steven Hrycelak, bass.

Austrian Stage presents the US and English-language premiere of In the Dead Mountains, a staged reading of the absurd drama by Austrian playwright Thomas Arzt. The performance will be followed by a talk with translator Neil Blackadder, director Guy Ben-Aharon, and Jacob M. Appel, Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine.

The Chase Brock Experience, the Brooklyn-based contemporary dance company now celebrating its 10th season, is excited to begin performances for their two-week engagement, tonight, Monday, November 27. The National Philharmonic's 2017-2018 season at The Music Center at Strathmore commences with star-studded performances by some of today's most famous classical musicians. The concert on Saturday, Oct. 14, at 8 p.m., will feature the famous former child prodigy Sarah Chang (violin) and Grammy winning Zuill Bailey (cello), conducted by Philharmonic Music Director and Conductor Piotr Gajewski. On Sunday, Oct. 15, at 3 p.m., Chang will play alongside pianist Santiago Rodriguez, who will be making his return-debut to the Washington area. Montgomery County Executive Ike Leggett is conducting the Star-Spangled Banner on Saturday. An instrument petting zoo will take place in the lobby on Sunday from 2-2:30 p.m., allowing children a chance to experiment with instruments from different families (string, wood, brass, and percussion). In both concerts, musicians will play Beethoven's Egmont Overtureand Max Bruch's Violin Concerto No. 1 in G Minor.

The artists selected for this prestigious residency and training program are composers Shuying Li, Andy Tierstein, and Liliya Ugay; librettists Lorene Cary, Julian Crouch, and Lila Palmer; and dramaturg Antigoni Gaitana.
