The Guthrie Theater today announced that Artistic Director Joe Dowling will direct legendary stage actor Brian Dennehy in John B. Keane's The Field in a limited run at Dublin's Olympia Theatre beginning January 13. Dennehy plays the iconic role of ‘The Bull' McCabe in Keane's award-winning play. The Field returns to the Olympia Theatre where it premiered more than 45 years ago and will run from January 13 through to February 12, then transfer to the INEC, Killarney, from February 15 through 17, followed by a transfer to the Royal Theatre, Castlebar, from February 24 through 26. Actress Cheryl Huggins has joined the cast of 100 Saints You Should Know by Kate Fodor, it was announced today by Elephant co-artistic director David Fofi. Ms. Huggins replaces the previously announced Emma Jacobson-Sive, who has left the production due to a family emergency. Opening night, which had been set for Friday, May 20, will now be Friday, May 27, and 100 Saints You Should Know will play a limited engagement through June 26. (more...)

A co-production with Center Theatre Group and in association with Les Freres Corbusier, BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON is written and directed by Alex Timbers and features music and lyrics by Michael Friedman. Inc. and Darren Lee Cole Theatricals are set to present The Irish Repertory Theatre's production of Eugene O'Neill's THE EMPEROR JONES - starring John Douglas Thompson as the charismatic Brutus Jones -- Off-Broadway for a strictly limited 7-week engagement, with previews set to begin Tuesday, December 15 prior to an official press opening December 22, at SoHo Playhouse.
