Phantom Projects Theatre Group Brings MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING to La Mirada Theatre, 11/8

Those who missed the wildly successful 3-week run of Shakespeare Orange County's production of Much Ado About Nothing this past August will get one more chance when Phantom Projects brings back the original creative team to re-mount their production of William Shakespeare's MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING. The one-day-only performance features a 10AM and 7pm performance on November 8th at La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts. Shakespeare & Company, Artistic Director Tony Simotes and the Peck School of the Arts are pleased to announce that Dennis Krausnick, Shakespeare & Company Director of Training and star of this summer's acclaimed main stage production of The Tragedy of King Lear, will reprise the role of the aging monarch in a production at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM). This production of The Tragedy of King Lear will also be directed by Rebecca Holderness, a professor at the Peck School, and is part of the university's 'Year of the Arts' celebration, which recognizes the 50th anniversary of the Peck School of the Arts. Barry Edelstein Appointed Artistic Director of The Old Globe

The Board of Directors of The Old Globe today announced the appointment of Barry Edelstein as Artistic Director. A nationally-recognized director, producer, author and educator, Edelstein will work together with Managing Director Michael G. Murphy to lead San Diego's flagship arts institution. Both Edelstein and Murphy will report jointly to the Board of Directors. Currently the Director of The Public Theater's Shakespeare Initiative in New York City, Edelstein will assume the artistic directorship of The Old Globe on Nov. 1 and will reside full-time in San Diego in January 2013.
