Bennett's last performance will be Sunday, September 15th­ at 7pm. It was in 1983 when the dame of all dames first squeezed into an over-tight corset, slapped on the rouge and exploded on to the stage for his very first appearance, with Jack and The Beanstalk. Thirty years later he has decided to hang up his unfeasibly large bra but not before one final outing as Dame Daisy in the eagerly awaited Nottingham Christmas show with which it all began. Award-winning American Screenwriter and Film Producer John Logan (Hugo, Skyfall, The Aviator) brings us this remarkably written script RED: Winner of the 2010 Tony Award for Best Play. This Wellington Premiere, Directed and Designed by Andrew Foster (Black Confetti, West End Girls) is an intimate insight into the art and mind of 20th Century abstract expressionist painter Mark Rothko, performed by iconic Actor John Bach (Lord Of The Rings, Duggan). Set in 1958 in his New York studio, Red reveals the complexities of Rothko's block-colour canvases and life-long search for meaning, as his expressionism is challenged by commercialism. NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts is pleased to announce programming for its tenth season, 2013-14. In its first decade, NYU Skirball has made substantial contributions not only to the community surrounding the country's largest private university, but also to a broader cultural landscape. In recent years, Executive Director Michael Harrington has used the venue-which, with 860 seats and state-of-the-art production capabilities, is unique in downtown Manhattan-to provide a platform for artists from around the world and from the facility's Greenwich Village neighborhood to practice their craft on a larger scale.
