When I see something as astonishing and extraordinary as Intimate Apparel, I try to come up with something clever, witty, or poetic to kick off my critique, but I am so wonderfully flustered by this beautifully acted and well-crafted production that all I can think off to kick off this review is "Wow." Confident, beautiful, sexy: three of North America's most recognized plus size bloggers will be showcased in a bold new lingerie campaign for ADDITION ELLE's Spring 2013 collections. The premise was simple; Addition Elle challenged the plus size fashion blogger community to participate in a lingerie shoot and share the images with their fan base and in turn ADDITION ELLE would showcase the images on their web-site and in their digital media campaign inviting fans to vote on their favourite bra. A true act of 'Fashion Democracy' that will dispel any notion that sexiness is limited to a certain body type or size. This exciting collaboration offers bloggers a unique opportunity to showcase their individual personalities and styles with their existing fan bases, in addition to a wide audience across North America. Southern Rep Theatre continues its 26th Season Mainstage Series with the World Premiere of MOLD by John Biguenet at The Contemporary Arts Center directed by Mark Routhier starring Trey Burvant, Kerry Cahill, Randy Maggiore, and Carol Sutton. In MOLD, John Biguenet, Louisiana Writer of the Year 2012, completes his award-winning Rising Water Trilogy including RISING WATER and SHOTGUN about the flooding of New Orleans and its aftermath. The Metropolitan Opera's 2013-14 season will feature many of the world's greatest singers, conductors, and theater artists in 26 operas, including six new productions, of a varied repertory that ranges from the Baroque era to the 21st century. Met Music Director James Levine will return to the Met podium for the first time in two years, conducting three operas with which he has long been associated: a new production of Verdi's final masterpiece Falstaff, Mozart's Cosi fan tutte, and Berg's Wozzeck. Met Principal Conductor Fabio Luisi will be conducting two operas in the 2013-14 season, Rossini's La Cenerentola and Puccini's Madama Butterfly. (more...)
