The Most Wonderful Time of the Year: College Football Season
by Matt Tamanini - Sep 5, 2015

Normally with my 366 in 366 challenge, I like to have an article completely or mostly written at least a day in advance, that way if something comes up, I won't be stressing to get something posted by the end of the day. In this case however, I specifically waited to start until 12:00pm ET on the first college football Saturday of the season. For me, and my family, there is no better time of the year than college football season. While sports might not exactly be in the wheelhouse of many BroadwayWorld readers, sports are a major part of the television landscape; often ranking at the top of both network and cable ratings. So, I will occasionally include a sports column as this year-long experiment evolves, but I will try to avoid getting too far into the weeds of sports wonk minutia. Two years ago, I tried to explain college football in my not-so-regular-maybe-I-should-bring-it-back column Translating Sports. (more...)

When she awoke, she could not sleep at night, so to rest her eyes, she was aware that voices came from within her when she began to write down what they were saying. Not being asleep or quite awake, she called this event her 'twilight dreams.' Keeping these words in a spiral pad, she shared them with a friend who was a contractor and he told her she was building a 'smart house.' (more...)
