The Theatre School at DePaul University presents THE SECRET GARDEN, written by Frances Hodgson Burnett, adapted by Pamela Sterling, and directed by John Jenkins, as the opening production of the 2010-2011 Chicago Playworks for Families and Young Audiences Series. This production opens Tuesday, October 30, and runs through Saturday, December 4, 2010, at DePaul's historic Merle Reskin Theatre. Performances are Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays at 10 AM and Saturdays at 2 PM. There will be no performances on November 23, 25, 26, 27, or 30. Director Robert Falls and actors Mary Beth Fisher and Francis Guinan talk about the process of bringing Anton Chekhov's The Seagull to Goodman Theatre at a special discussion on Sunday, November 7 at 6:30pm, following the matinee performance. Moderated by Steppenwolf Theatre Company Artistic Director Martha Lavey, this conversation is part of the theater's Artists Talk series, a unique opportunity for audiences to connect directly with the artists from Goodman productions. Tony and Olivier Award winning star Mark Rylance (La Bête, Boeing-Boeing) will recreate his wildly acclaimed, multi award-winning performance as Johnny ‘Rooster' Byron on Broadway in the Royal Court Theatre production of Jez Butterworth's universally heralded new play, JERUSALEM. The production, directed by Ian Rickson, will also star Mackenzie Crook (The Seagull, 'The Office') as Ginger and most of the original Royal Court cast, with full casting to be announced at a later date. JERUSALEM will open on Broadway on April 21, 2011 at the Music Box Theatre (239 West 45th Street). Previews will begin on April 2, 2011. The production will play a limited 16-week engagement. Sheffield Theatres has today announced casting for its production of ME AND MY GIRL this December. Daniel Crossley takes the lead role of Bill Snibson, Jemima Rooper will play Sally and Miriam Margolyes will take the part of the Duchess. The production is the first musical to be staged at the Crucible following its £15.3 million redevelopment. The production will be directed by Anna Mackmin.
