Producer John Johnson announced yesterday that 35mm A Musical Exhibition, written by Ryan Scott Oliver based on the photography of Matthew Murphy, has added a new, final performance on Wednesday, March 14 at 8:00 p.m. due to popular demand. The upcoming performance on Monday, March 12 is now completely sold out. 35mm is playing at Brooklyn's Galapagos Art Space (16 Main Street, DUMBO). (more...)

Anchoring the program is "Testimony", Schwartz' world premiere composed specifically for SFGMC. Rehearsals have begun at Milton High School for their production of THE DROWSY CHAPERONE. This show will perform March 14-17, directed by Renee Denney and music directed by Leigh Ann Shaw. The cast is full of experienced high schoolers, some of whom also appeared in Milton's successful production of HAIRSPRAY in spring 2011. It will feature choreography by the Off-Broadway choreographer and acclaimed tap dancer Jen MacQueen, who choreographed the recent Atlanta production of A Chorus Line at Aurora Theatre, for which she received a BroadwayWorld (Atlanta) Award Nomination for Best Choreography in a Musical. The Old Globe just began performances for Anna Christie, Eugene O'Neill's masterpiece about the knotty relationship between an old sailor and his estranged daughter. The production is directed by Daniel Goldstein, who is currently represented on Broadway with the hit revival of Godspell. Anna Christie will run through April 15, 2012 in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Preview performances run through March 14.
