Nigel Redden, director of the Lincoln Center Festival, and Rebecca Robertson, President and Executive Producer, Park Avenue Armory, today announced that the two organizations will co-present The Passenger, Mieczyslaw Weinberg's uncompromising 1968 opera about the Holocaust, performed by Houston Grand Opera and directed by David Pountney, in its New York premiere performances July 10, 12 and 13 at Lincoln Center Festival 2014. Pountney's production will have its U.S. premiere on January 18, 2014 at Houston Grand Opera.

The New World Symphony, America's Orchestral Academy (NWS), is pleased to share details of our 2013-2014 season. As a research-and-development arm for classical music, the coming season includes a series of commissions, partnerships and events that showcase NWS as a laboratory for generating new ideas about the way music is taught, presented and experienced. Highlights include the commissioning and presentation of new works by emerging and established artists, the development of multi-media collaborative projects, and the continuation of innovative concert formats. These initiatives exist with the goal of developing New World Symphony Fellows, who will advance the field of classical music and become ambassadors for the art forms in their communities and beyond.

The writing teams, representing more than twenty new musicals, will populate the campus, creating a truly exciting environment for discovery and inspiration.
The New Group presents the world premiere of Clive, written by Jonathan Marc Sherman and directed by and featuring Ethan Hawke in the title role. This production features Brooks Ashmanskas, Vincent D'Onofrio, Stephanie Janssen, Mahira Kakkar, Zoe Kazan, Aaron Krohn, Dana Lyn and Jonathan Marc Sherman, with Music and Sound Sculptures by GAINES. Clive plays a limited Off-Broadway engagement January 17 through March 9 at The New Group at Theatre Row (The Acorn Theatre / 410 West 42nd Street). Rattlestick Playwrights Theater Artistic Director David Van Asselt and Managing Director Brian Long have announced the cast and creative team for the world premiere of Through the Yellow Hour, a play written and directed by Adam Rapp (Pulitzer Prize finalist for Red Light Winter). The first production of the company's 18th season, Through the Yellow Hour will begin performances tonight, September 13, 2012 at Rattlestick Theater (224 Waverly Place-off Seventh Avenue South, between Perry and West 11th Streets).
