After 64 years, Palo Alto Players is delighted to welcome The Heiress back to its stage. Inspired by the Henry James novel Washington Square, and written by Ruth and Augustus Goetz, this lush and epic drama is a story of wealth, class, and the true cost of love. Directed by Dennis Lickteig, The Heiress is truly timeless, winning Tony Awards in 1947 and 1995. It will run for 11 performances (tongiht, January 17-February 2, 2014) at the Lucie Stern Theater, located at 1305 Middlefield Road in Palo Alto.

The Jeff Awards Committee has announced that Mary Arrchie Theatre's Richard Cotovsky will receive a Special Award at the 40th Annual Non-Equity Jeff Awards Ceremony on Monday, June 3, 2013. He will be honored for his cutting edge contributions to Non-Equity Theatre over the past four decades, during which he was dubbed the "Godfather of Storefront Theater" by Nick Digilio of WGN radio.

Broadway's Cort Theatre (138 West 48th Street), just celebrated its 100th Anniversary yesterday, December 20th. The theatre, which opened on December 20, 1912 with a Peg O'My Heart starring Laurette Taylor, is currently home to the Broadway Premiere of Grace, which will end its limited engagement on January 6, 2013. It will next be home to the World Premiere production of Truman Capote's Breakfast at Tiffany's, a new play written by Richard Greenberg, which starts performances on Monday, March 4 and opens on Wednesday, March 20. The Cort Theatre is owned and operated by The Shubert Organization.

An absurdist black comedy about the demise of the Duncan family, and, by extension, the species, PTERODACTYLS will feature Emmy Award-winner Penny Fuller (THE DINNER PARTY, APPLAUSE) as Duncan family matriarch, Grace; Tony-nominee Bobby Steggert (RAGTIME) as son, Todd; Virginia Kull (THE HEIRESS) as daughter, Emma; and Claybourne Elder (BONNIE & CLYDE) as Emma's fiance Tommy (the role of family patriarch, Arthur, is TBD).
