Philadelphia Young Playwrights to Honor Mayor Nutter

In celebration of its 21st year, Philadelphia Young Playwrights will hold its annual benefit, Write On! A Philadelphia Young Playwrights' Celebration, on Wednesday, June 4th from 6:00 - 8:30 p.m. at World Café Live (3025 Walnut Street, Philadelphia). Young Playwrights will honor Mayor Michael A. Nutter with the newly created Civics Award, created for the Mayor to honor his commitment to the concepts of civility and respect for others.

Polk, Del Negro & Campbell Star in 'Speed-the-Plow' at ACT

American Conservatory Theater announced the casting today for David Mamet's brisk, cutting comedy on the movie business, Speed-the-Plow, directed by Loretta Greco. The cast features 2007 Drama Desk Award-nominee Andrew Polk, Matthew Del Negro ('The Sopranos'), and Jessi Campbell (A.C.T.'s Blackbird). Speed-the-Plow plays A.C.T. January 4 through February 3. Press night is Wednesday, January 9.
