Drama Desk and Lucille Lortel Nominee Claybourne Elder (Bonnie & Clyde, Road Show, Allegro) will lead the cast as George, reprising his critically-acclaimed performance in Signature Theatre's award-winning 2014 production. Broadway veteran Sara Jean Ford (A Little Night Music, The Phantom of the Opera, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Finian's Rainbow) has been cast in the legendary role of Dot. Ten years ago, Hurricane Katrina devastated the city of New Orleans displacing thousands of people and flooding the streets. On August 27, 2005, EgoPo arrived in Philadelphia to begin technical rehearsals for a production of The Maids x 2, a ground-breaking version of Jean Genet's classic, The Maids. Three days later, EgoPo was stranded in Philadelphia as a result of Katrina. Their home in New Orleans, The Jewel Theater, was destroyed along with the homes of most of the company members. Fresh off of four Barrymore Award nominations, Philadelphia Artists' Collective returns with The Captive by Edouard Bourdet, from September 1 through 20, 2015, during the 2015 Philadelphia FringeArts Festival. This well-mannered tragedy will tackle issues of sex, domesticity and class manners. Deeply controversial in its time, productions of this 1926 play were censored, and its producers and actors jailed. The Captive will be produced inside Society Hill's Physick House at 321 S. 4th Street. The historic townhouse in fact will be the perfect co-conspirator as the secrets and heated private moments unfold. The Bach Choir of Bethlehem has announced its 2015/16 season, Bach At The Heart, which will culminate in the 109th Bethlehem Bach Festival in May 2016. In a milestone programming endeavor, The Bach Choir of Bethlehem will mount performances of four major choral works this season: in addition to the traditional performance of the B Minor Mass at the Bach Festival 2016, the Christmas Oratorio (Cantatas 1-3) will be performed in the Bach Choir's traditional Christmas concerts on December 12th & 13th,2015; the St. John Passion in its spring concert on March 20th,, and the Easter Oratorio at the Bach Festival on Friday evenings.
