A bevy of flying saucers from Planet X has appeared over the skies of Beertown, led by alien aviatrix, Queen Zombina, on a quest to 'zombify' and abduct all of Earth's men! The Milwaukee Space Center and the US military are prepared to meet the foes head on, until Zombina unleashes her secret weapon. It's up to a mild-mannered scientist, an all-American girl-next-door, a man-hungry secretary and one plucky, tap-dancing delivery boy to save the world from this planetary menace from outer space!

Alexander Neef, General Director of the Canadian Opera Company, announced today the commission of a new opera for its mainstage by one of Canada's most important composers, Ana Sokolovi?. Titled La Reine-Garçon, the libretto is by Quebec playwrightMichel Marc Bouchard and based on his play of the same name. Inspired by Queen Christina of Sweden who ruled the country in the 17th century before abdicating her throne at the age of 27, La Reine-Garçonis currently in development and is scheduled to have its world premiere in the COC's 2019/2020 season.

The Old Globe invites your participation and coverage as it begins presenting shows through an exciting new producing platform, Globe for All. This free-of-charge tour of a professional production of Shakespeare will allow the theatre to serve more communities throughout San Diego by collaborating with a diverse range of local organizations. Old Globe Artistic Director Barry Edelstein directs the first production, Shakespeare's fascinating romance All's Well That Ends Well. He has cast local professional actors, including recent graduates of the Old Globe/University of San Diego Graduate Theatre Program. William Inge Center for the Arts Welcomes Karen Carpenter as New Interim Artistic Director

Karen Carpenter, a producer, director and teacher, a theater-maker for more than 30 years, has been appointed the interim Artistic Director of the William Inge Center for the Arts and the 34th Annual William Inge Theatre Festival. The Inge Festival is the Official Theater Festival of the State of Kansas, hosted on the campus of Independence Community College, which houses the William Inge archives.

BLUNDERLAND Comes to South Florida 11/19-22

Fort Lauderdale will be only the second city in the country to receive the production How I Stepped Out as a Transvestite from BLUNDERLAND by Rufus Cadigan, performing November 19-22. Blunderland received its world premiere in June, 2013 during the annual Columbus Pride Celebration. Blunderland is a true story based on the life of Rev. William Carlson (1935-2012). Mr. Cadigan and Mr. Carlson became friends around 1994 when they were both parishioners at St. Chad's Episcopal Church in Loves Park, Illinois. Mr. Cadigan remembers him as a kind, warm gentleman filled with joy and humor.

Cumberland County Playhouse and its producing partner The SCOPES FESTIVAL, in Dayton, TN, have added three more performances of FRONT PAGE NEWS, the newly adapted, historically accurate play with music, opening Friday July 18 in the historic "monkey trial" courtroom in Dayton's Rhea County Courthouse. Additional shows of the new work are on Saturday, July 26 at 2:30 and 7:30pm, and the final show on Sunday, July 27 at 2:30 pm (All times are EDT). "Tickets for opening weekend are going fast, with a few good seats still open, especially on Saturday night at 7:30" says MainStreet Dayton director Anna Tromanhouser of the Festival Committee. "But call now!"
