TACT/The Actors Company Theatre will hold its Winter Benefit on Monday, December 1st at The Metropolitan Room (34 West 22nd Street). The festive evening entitled 'Catch A Rising Star' will be emceed by legendary Broadway song and dance man Lee Roy Reams and will feature musical performances by eight young up-and-coming Broadway talents. An epic tale of friendship set against the backdrop of the sweeping American West, Abundance will be directed by TACT Co-Artistic Director Jenn Thompson, who directed last season's production of William Inge's Natural Affection. Performances begin at Theatre Row's Beckett Theatre (410 West 42nd Street - between 9th & 10th Avenues) on Tuesday, February 17, 2015. Opening night is set forSunday, March 1 at 6:00pm. BWW Reviews: Thought Provoking A DELICATE BALANCE from Theatre 9/12

Here in Seattle we are blessed with a ton of theatrical choices. I mean of course there are the big boys, the Rep, ACT, 5th Ave, etc. But we also have those small companies that may not have the funds for a helicopter to land on stage but instead invest their time and tiny amounts of money into turning in some thoughtful and engaging performances. One such company is Theatre 9/12. They perform in a church and I'm sure most of the set is borrowed but their level of theatrical craftsmanship is right up there with the best as is evident in their current production of Edward Albee's "A Delicate Balance" with its solid performances that will stay with you all night long.
