Launching his 2018-19 series of engagements (his eighth at the Harris Center) with a commemoration of Rachmaninoff and Debussy, Mr. Siegel will offer comments on these two beloved composers, and then give a virtuosic performance of several piano masterpieces. His August program will include the famous C Sharp Minor Prelude, Clair de lune, and stirring Etudes of both composers; a lively Q&A will follow. The Contemporary American Theater Festival (CATF) at Shepherd University is the proud recipient of a grant from the Claude Worthington Benedum Foundation to support the Rural Arts Collaborative (RAC). Supported by the Foundation, students from Magnolia High School in Wetzel County, West Virginia will tour their immersive art exhibition, Where?, to Shepherdstown for an arts residency this month during the Contemporary American Theater Festival. The student artists will showcase and share their work with Eastern Panhandle residents and visitors.

The Washington Chorus begins its 58th season on Sunday, November 18, 2018 with performances of Johannes Brahms' magnificent A German Requiem, Op. 45 and Benjamin Britten's Ballad of Heroes at the Kennedy Center Concert Hall. Brahms' beloved work looks to console the living, while Britten's Ballad urges the listener to remember the sacrifices made on their behalf by soldiers killed in war. Artistic Director Christopher Bell conceived the program to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Armistice Day (November 11, 1918), which marked the end of World War I, now recognized as Veterans Day in the United States. Christopher Bell conducts the Chorus and orchestra. Soloists include Laura Choi Stuart, soprano and Rob McGinness, baritone.

On Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Severance Hall, America's preeminent performing arts television series Great Performances in association with ideastream will record The Cleveland Orchestra's 100th Anniversary Gala Concert for an exclusive U.S. television broadcast on PBS slated for 2019. The broadcast is a co-production of The Cleveland Orchestra, ideastream, and THIRTEEN Productions LLC for WNET.

The Pew Center for Arts & Heritage announced 45 grants today in support of the Philadelphia region's cultural organizations and artists. The 2018 awards total more than $8.7 million and provide funding for 12 Pew Fellowships and 33 Project grants.

Greenwich+Docklands International Festival (GDIF), London's leading festival of outdoor theatre and performing arts, today announces its full programme for the 2018 festival, running from 21 June - 7 July in locations across Royal Greenwich, Royal Docks and Tower Hamlets. Suffragette City, a partnership between the National Trust and The National Archives, will re - create the life of a Suffragette activist in the years before the partial grant of the vote to women in 1918. Inspired by records held by The National Archives, Suffragette City documents the life and arrest of Lillian Ball, a dressmaker and mother from Tooting, arrested for smashing a window in 1912.

On the heels of a triumphant album release, Bay-Area pianist Jeffrey LaDeur celebrates the centennial year of Claude Debussy (1862-1918) with his Carnegie Hall Debut in Weill Recital Hall. On Sunday March 25th, LaDeur builds narratives across centuries of French music in a performance of Debussy's Etudes (1915) with additional works of Couperin and Chopin that influenced Debussy's final masterpiece for piano.

Entering the sixth decade of a noted global career, pianist Misha Dichter will be presented by the Key Pianists concert series on Wednesday evening, February 21st, 2018 at 7:30 pm at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall.
