Rafael Fru?hbeck de Burgos will conduct the New York Philharmonic in the Overture to Glinka's Ruslan and Ludmila; Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto, with Leonidas Kavakos as soloist; Debussy's Nocturnes, featuring the Women of the New York Choral Artists; and the Suite from Stravinsky's The Firebird (1919), Friday, November 26, 2010, at 8:00 p.m., Saturday, November 27, at 8:00 p.m. On Tuesday, November 30 at 7:30 p.m., Mr. Fru?hbeck will conduct the Orchestra in Glinka's Ruslan and Ludmila Overture; Haydn's Symphony No. 100, Military; Debussy's Noctures; and Stravinsky's Firebird Suite.

The American Shakespeare Center has announced its 2010-2011 seasons, a program of 16 productions presented over 52 weeks in 5 separate repertory seasons, offering the largest number of plays per year by Shakespeare and Early Modern playwrights of any theatre in the world.

Music Director Alan Gilbert will conduct the New York Philharmonic in Aaron Jay Kernis's a Voice, a Messenger, a World Premiere-New York Philharmonic Co- Commission with the Big Band Association, featuring Philharmonic Principal Trumpet Philip Smith, and the New York Premiere of Christopher Rouse's Oboe Concerto, with Principal Oboe Liang Wang, Tuesday, December 28, 2010, Wednesday, December 29, and Thursday, December 30, at 7:30 p.m. Also on the program: Vivaldi's Concerto for Four Violins, RV 580, performed by Philharmonic violinists Sheryl Staples, Michelle Kim, Marc Ginsberg, and Lisa Kim; Hindemith's Horn Concerto, played by Principal Horn Philip Myers; and Ravel's Boléro.

TERRI WHITE, who recently starred as Mama Morton in Chicago on Broadway, and has been in several Broadway and Off-Broadway shows including the recent revival of Finian's Rainbow will lend her talents to raise funds for the Dreamlight Theater Company on November 1, 2010. This 'living room' concert will take place in the home of Dreamlight supporter Elizabeth Inserra at 57 West 75 Street at 6:30pm. For a 100% tax-deductible donation of $125 per person listeners get to enjoy hearing Terri perform songs with the help of her longtime pianist Bobby Peaco It promises to be a great evening of song and schmooze, wine and nibbles, with this great actress whose credits include Joice Heth in Barnum with Jim Dale and Glenn Close, Ain't Misbehavin' revival in 1988 with Patti Austin, and The Club for which she won an Obie award.

Lincoln Center Theater (under the direction of Andre Bishop, Artistic Director and Bernard Gersten, Executive Producer) has announced that de'Adre Aziza, Danny Burstein, Nikka Graff Lanzarone, Patti LuPone, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Mary Beth Peil and Sherie Rene Scott will be featured in its upcoming production of the new musical WOMEN ON THE VERGE OF A NERVOUS BREAKDOWN, based on the film by Pedro Almodóvar, with a book by Jeffrey Lane, music and lyrics by David Yazbek and direction by Bartlett Sher. This world premiere production will begin previews on Saturday, October 2 at 8pm and open on Thursday, November 4 at 6:45pm on Broadway at the Belasco Theatre (111 W. 44 Street).

UK Daily Mail reports that Dame Judi Dench and Dame Maggie Smith are in talks to co-star in John Madden's 'The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel,' a film adaptation of the Deborah Moggach novel 'These Foolish Things.' Dench previously won her Academy Award under Madden's direction in 'Shakespeare in Love.' Dench last worked with Smith in the film 'Ladies in Lavender.'

Howard County Arts Council (HCAC) announces that The Mark Ryder Original Choreography Grant Program deadline for applications has been extended to June 11, 2010. The program was established at the bequest of his family, in honor of Mr. Ryder's life's work, to recognize individual creative expression and to provide financial assistance to choreographers to create new original work.
