Steppenwolf Theatre Company is pleased to announce its 2010/2011 Subscription Season, exploring the theme of public/private self. Season subscriptions are currently on-sale.

The Eugene O'Neill Theater Center announced today that seven plays will be developed at the 2010 National Playwrights Conference under the leadership of artistic director Wendy C. Goldberg. The selected playwrights will spend the month of July at the O'Neill's Waterford, Connecticut campus developing and presenting staged readings of their work during the NPC's 46th season. Box office and online ticket sales open Wednesday, June 9; advance ticket sales will be available to O'Neill Members beginning Monday, May 17.

The Boston Globe recently talked to Tony Award-winner Mel Brooks about directing, his legendary career and his unique creatives process. Brooks' musical YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN is set to play at the Boston Opera House beginning this Tuesday for a two-week engagement.

There's something going on every week this summer with Taproot Theatre's Acting Studio. From musical theatre to Shakespeare, acting for the camera and the art of comedy, summer quarter features nearly three dozen camps for kids and teens ages 4-17. Plus, the Acting Studio introduces the all-new Audition!, a one-week course that will take students through the audition process from start to finish, and will send them home with a professional resume, headshot and monologue. Summer quarter runs from June 21 through September 2.

From September 8-16, BAMcinématek, the repertory film program at BAM Rose Cinemas, presents Robert Redford: Artist & Activist, a 16-film tribute to Redford's 50-year career in film. Robert Redford will be at BAM in-person to discuss his work as one of the 20th century's most celebrated actors and as an Academy-award winning director, as well as a leading environmental and social change activist, and champion of independent cinema as founder of The Sundance Institute.
