In honor of Lookingglass Theatre's 2011 Regional Theatre Tony Award, BroadwayWorld Chicago jumps down the rabbit hole all week long to gather what makes the Chicago ensemble company tick. Today we look at five notable people in the company's history.

Love in American Times is directed by San Jose Rep's Artistic Director Rick Lombardo, and will run from May 12 through June 5, 2011.

Laughing Matters, the ultimate hit of the Goldstein Cabaret, is back and bigger than ever. Laughing Matters: Unconditional Surrender will parody national and local topics. From the new city commission to the new roundabouts, there's always something happening in Sarasota that we can all collectively laugh at. The show will have preview performances on March 30 and 31, with opening night on Friday, April 1.

In May 2011, The New York Philharmonic This Week - the two-hour, national weekly and international radio program of concerts by the New York Philharmonic, hosted by actor Alec Baldwin - begins with commercial New York Philharmonic recordings of past performances. They include Bloch's Concerto Grosso No. 1 (conducted by Charles Munch, with pianist Walter Hendl as soloist, recorded 1948); Ben-Haim's Sweet Psalmist of Israel (conducted by Leonard Bernstein, with Sylvia Marlowe, harpsichord, and Christina Stavrache, harp, recorded 1959); and Shostakovich's Symphony No. 13, BabiYar (conducted by Kurt Masur, with baritone Sergei Leiferkus and the Men of the New York Choral Artists, Joseph Flummerfelt, director, recorded 1993). The following week pianist Emanuel Ax - who is celebrating his 100th performance with the Philharmonic - will play Debussy's Estampes for solo piano, followed by Messiaen's Couleurs de la cité céleste, conducted by Music Director Alan Gilbert, who will also lead the Orchestra in Mahler's Symphony No. 5.

The Odyssey-an adaptation based on Robert Fitzgerald's translation of Homer's poem, and directed by producing artistic director Scott Nolte-kicks off the 2011 season with an opening night on February 4. The production runs through March 5, with previews on February 2 and 3.
