The award, named in honor of the late award-winning lyricist Fred Ebb, will be presented by David Hyde Pierce tonight, November 26th from 6-8pm at a by-invitation-only ceremony in the Penthouse Lobby of The American Airlines Theater. Craig Edwards (Step Mother), Thomas Eccleshare (Prince), Lisa Kerr (Ella) and Lucy Tuck (Step Sister) will reprise their roles in Sally Cookson's enchanting and inventive production of Cinderella: A Fairytale, originally staged to huge acclaim at the Tobacco Factory Theatre, Bristol in 2011. They will be joined by Tom Godwin (Step Brother) in the production which begins performances at the St. James Theatre on 12 December 2012, running until 26 January 2013, with press night on 18 December 2012. Musicians are Adam Pleeth and Brian Hargreaves, playing Benji Bower's folk-jazz score. (more...)

If anyone knows what it means to survive, it is James Fortune. Having lived through a situation of despair, Fortune has overcome the impossible and is a true testimony of faith and perseverance. This is the message he wants to share with the rest of the world. Having been a supporter since 2010, the award-winning gospel star has visited St. Jude Children's Hospital several times and performed a benefit concert, continuing to give support and love to the children there who suffer from all types and stages of cancer and other life threatening diseases. He is intimately invested in the work of the hospital and is rallying for others to do the same. (more...)

While renowned as a performer, band leader and composer, 'Dave Brubeck was a giant not only in music but in spirit,' said Milken Archive founder Lowell Milken. 'His work will continue to speak an eternal message of hope for the brotherhood of man.' He was a great friend of the Milken Archive of American Jewish Music, which recorded The Gates of Justice in 2001 as well as his choral cantata The Commandments in 2007.
