Richmond Ballet to Present CINDERELLA, 2/13-16

Richmond Ballet has announced the return of a fairytale favorite, as Malcolm Burn's full-length Cinderella will be presented at the Carpenter Theatre at Richmond CenterStage, February 13-16, 2014. Sergei Prokofiev's romantic score will be brought to life by the Richmond Symphony for all five performances. In addition, 28 children from The School of Richmond Ballet will perform alongside the professional company and Richmond Ballet II. Richmond Ballet last performed Burn's Cinderella in February of 2009 to sold-out audiences. In a landmark season when the company is celebrating 30 years of its own dreams coming true, Cinderella's inclusion is both poignant and fitting. (more...)

The South Carolina Aquarium to Host Guy Harvey Art Exhibit, 1/17

Marine wildlife artist and conservationist Dr. Guy Harvey is partnering with the South Carolina Aquarium to display a complete range of his artwork in Canvases for Conservation, an art installation opening January 17, 2014. The South Carolina Aquarium is honored to be the first aquarium to feature a large collection of Guy Harvey's artwork. Canvases for Conservation will additionally feature one of Dr. Harvey's loggerhead turtle originals. Feature film awards will be announced at a separate ceremony on January 25 in Park City, hosted by husband-and-wife duo Nick Offerman and Megan Mullally and livestreamed at www.sundance.org/live. NBC Sports Group's upcoming NASCAR coverage continues to take shape as another prominent figure from the sanctioning body's elite series joins NBC and NBCSN's expanding broadcast team. Current Hendrick Motorsports crew chief Steve Letarte, who once stood at the helm of Jeff Gordon's famed No. 24 race team, and now leads the crew behind the ultra-popular No. 88 car driven by Dale Earnhardt Jr., has reached an agreement to join NBC's multi-platform NASCAR coverage beginning in 2015.
