Based on the first novel in 'The Chronicles of Narnia' series, the film follows the four Pevensie children who are taken into the country home of an old professor during World War II. While playing hide and seek one afternoon, they stumble across an old wardrobe that transports them to the world of Narnia. This enchanted place where animals speak is ruled by the evil White Witch, who has made it snow for 100 years. The Children must unite with the true ruler of Narnia, a lion named Aslan, and together defeat the evil witch and fulfill their destinies as kings and queens of Narnia. (more...)

TCTC's production of "Santa's Toy Factory" will feature not only LOCAL 12's morning team of anchor Bob Herzog and meteorologist John Gumm as the Miser Brothers (Heat and Snow, respectively -- you might remember them from the 1970s TV special The Year Without a Santa Claus), but also, 16 year-old Eben Franckewitz fresh off American Idol starring as the show's leading character, Wendell the Elf. The Hartt School Community Division (HCD) production of Tchaikovsky's timeless holiday classic The Nutcracker features a range of special guests in cameo roles through the course of its four-performance run. Special guests from the community joining the cast include Lieutenant Governor Nancy Wyman and Chad Williams, Director of Program Services of the Boys & Girls Club of Hartford. Closer to home, University President Walter Harrison; acclaimed Head Women's Basketball Coach Jennifer Rizzotti; and Miss Connecticut, Emily Audibert, also appear in cameo roles. Miss Audibert is a senior at the University of Hartford with a triple major in economics/finance, accounting, and entrepreneurial studies. She will represent Connecticut at the 2013 Miss America Pageant in Las Vegas in January. University of Hartford mascot Howie the Hawk, as well as Pucky the Whale, beloved mascot of Connecticut Whale, also make appearances. (more...)

The Centenary Stage Company is once again hosting The New Jersey Civic Youth Ballet's (NJCYB) annual performance of The Nutcracker in the David and Carol Lackland Center in Hackettstown. "For millions of Americans, it wouldn't be Christmas without seeing a production of The Nutcracker," says CSC General Manger Catherine Rust. With a cast of over 60 talented dancers from Hunterdon, Morris, Sussex, and Warren Counties, this ballet based on Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Suite is unique because of the narration by actress Janine Byrnes telling the story from the perspective of young Clara Stahlbaum. The 30th Anniversary Edition of Reagle Music Theatre's CHRISTMAS TIME is an all-encompassing, radiant, musical holiday extravaganza. A pageant for all ages that has stood the test of time, the show features guest artists Sarah Pfisterer and Rick Hilsabeck, a cast of nearly 200 adults and children, and a full live orchestra.
