It's a shame Romance, Romance ends its run at the Vagabond Players on Feb. 8, just six days prior to Valentine's Day. So why not celebrate a little earlier with this quaint little musical by Barry Harman (book and lyrics) and Keith Hermann (music). Director Bill Kamberger continues his magic with not much material with enjoyable choreography by James Biernatowski and musical direction by Michael Tan (soon to tackle Sweeney Todd at the Spotlighters.)

This production marks the American premiere of GATES OF GOLD, which starred Alan Howard in Dublin and William Gaunt in the West End.
Frank McGuinness was born in Buncrana, Co. Donegal, lives in Dublin and lectures in English at University College, Dublin. Gates of Gold, a new drama by Frank McGuinness will open at 59E59 on Tuesday, January 27, 2008. Directed by Lonnie Price, the production will be produced by Artists Theatre Group, Sally Jacobs and Warren Baker. McGuinness, a Tony Award winner, has his new version of Oedipus, starring Ralph Fiennes opening at the National Theatre in London and will soon have his adaptation of Ibsen's The Master Builder opening in New York at the Irish Repertory Theatre on October 29.
