The musical comedy takes place in turn-of-the-century Paris, where La Mome Pistache, proud owner of the Bal du Paradis, famous for its sexy can-can girls, spars with Aristide Forestier, a self-righteous judge determined to close all Parisian dance halls.
On Saturday, December 8 at 7:30pm, the Bang on a Can All-Stars will return to the Japan Society (333 East 47th Street) to perform Rimpa Reimagined, a multimedia program unveiling world premieres by red-hot New York-based composer/jazz pianist Vijay Iyer and celebrated Japanese post-minimalist composer Mamoru Fujieda.

Cloud Atlas is an epic adventure-drama film written and directed by Lana Wachowski, Tom Tykwer (also co-composer), and Andy Wachowski. Bang on a Can is celebrating 25 years during 2012, having grown from a one-day New York-based Marathon concert (on Mother's Day in 1987 in a SoHo art gallery) to a multi-faceted performing arts organization with a broad range of year-round international activities.

Heiskell, chairman of the Board of The New 42nd Street since its founding in 1990, has relinquished her post and been named Honorary Chair, Cora Cahan, President of The New 42nd Street announced today. Ms. Heiskell has been succeeded as Chairman by Fiona Howe Rudin, who joined the Board in 2004, and has served as a Vice Chair since 2008.
