Beginning this month, Carnegie Hall presents The '60s: The Years that Changed America, a citywide festival from January 14-March 24, 2018, featuring an expansive array of events to be presented at Carnegie Hall and at more than 35 leading partner cultural institutions throughout New York City and beyond. Lantern Theater Company continues its 24th season with a world premiere production of The Craftsman by celebrated Philadelphia playwright Bruce Graham. Commissioned and developed through the Lantern's New Works Initiative, Graham's new play spins a darkly ironic tale of ambition, genius, and deception. M. Craig Getting will direct a cast that includes Mary Lee Bednarek, Dan Hodge, Anthony Lawton, Brian McCann, Paul L. Nolan, and Ian Merrill Peakes. HB Studio, one of New York's most venerable institutions for theater training and practice, is shaking things up this year for their annual benefit. Canada-China Cultural Development Association (CCCDA) presents Beijing People's Art Theatre in Lao She'sTeahouse - an epic drama of Chinese culture, history, and politics, November 10 & 11 at The Centre in Vancouver for Performing Arts (777 Homer Street). The signature work from one of China's national theatre companies, the play follows 50-years of turbulent history - from the fall of the Qing Empire in 1898 to the defeat of the Kuomingtang in 1948 - as witnessed within the walls of a Beijing teahouse.

The production of 'Two Trains Running' will be featured at Fulton Park in Brooklyn on Aug. 26 from 6 to 9 p.m., and Aug. 27 at Herbert Von King Park from 4 to 7p.m. Both performances are FREE. August in August actually began Aug. 13 with the first installation of the series 'Ma Rainey's Black Bottom performed at Fulton Park in Brooklyn, produced by the Bed-Stuy Theatre Group.
