Teatro Paraguas presents Holiday Flamenco 2016, Mina Fajardo & Company 'Romance de La Luna' on Tuesday & Wednesday, December 20 & 21, 2016.

As part of his US tour Pablo makes his debut at Napa Valley Performing Arts Center and will treat audiences to selections from his latest album Americano, which quickly made it's way to as top 11 in Billboard's charts upon it's release. Pablo will guide audiences on a musical journey from Alaska to Tierra del Fuego, featuring sensual Brazilian beats, vivid Venezuelan rhythms, and vibrant American bluegrass, and highlighting favorite composers of the Americas, including five-time Academy Award-winner John Williams, Heitor Villa-Lobos, Agustín Lara, and Leonard Bernstein.

Calgary-based Honens today announced details of its 2018 Piano Competition.  Pianists of all nationalities, aged 20 to 30 on August 30, 2018, with the exception of past Honens Laureates and professionally managed artists, may apply starting February 1, 2017.  The application deadline is October 31, 2017.  The Competition's Quarterfinals take place in Berlin and New York in March 2018.  Semifinals and Finals take place in Calgary from August 30 to September 8, 2018.

The Chan Centre for the Performing Arts at the University of British Columbia (UBC) announces the return of Portuguese-Mozambican artist, Mariza, the living voice of fado on Today, November 2, 2016 at 8pm in theChan Shun Concert Hall. Houston Grand Opera (HGO) opens its 2016 winter repertory on January 22with an inventive staging by multiple-award-winning theater director Michael Grandage of Mozart's genial farce, The Marriage of Figaro. Performances continue through February 7. Co-produced by HGO and the Glyndebourne Festival and premiered at Glyndebourne in 2012, this production, set in 1970s Spain with sets and costumes by award-winning designer Christopher Oram, was hailed for its beauty and for affirming “Mozart's comic masterpiece as both of its time and perennially modern” (Sunday Times). HGO is delighted to bring this elegant staging to Houston under the direction of Ian Rutherford, who worked with Grandage and toured the production following its Glyndebourne run.
