Mavis, a former professional chorus girl tries her hardest to teach the bumbling amateurs in a low-rent dance studio some dance skills for an upcoming recital. But before the dancing begins Mavis must mediate the minor dramas that erupt among this motley but loveable crew on their way to triumph at their recital.

The Dow Hotel Company, LLC (DHC), a hotel ownership, investment and management company, today announced that it has acquired in a joint venture with The Carlyle Group's (CG) Carlyle Realty Partners VI, the 269-room, Four Diamond-rated Hilton Orrington hotel in Evanston, Ill. It is the third property acquired by DHC and its investment partners in the past nine months. DHC will operate the hotel.
While regional theatres often lean towards staging Tony winning, crowd pleasing musicals, occasionally one may boldly look towards a show that is off the beaten path and lacks a trophy cabinet full of awards. Austin Playhouse has done exactly that with their current production of Triumph of Love and has unearthed a hidden gem of a show in the process. Thrillpeddlers has extended performances of their 6th annual Theatre of The Ridiculous Revival of the next Cockettes Musical, Tinsel Tarts in a Hot Coma, a new full-length, restored version of The Cockettes' 1971 musical sensation thru July 27, 2103 (an additional nine performances) (no performances weekend of July 4, 2013). This will be the final extension. Must close July 27, 2013. This is the 42nd Anniversary of the original production, produced as a Nocturnal Dream Show and performed at midnight at the Palace Theatre in Chinatown in SF. Tinsel Tarts in a Hot Coma celebrates the Cockettes' fascination (in the early 70s) with everything Art Deco.

From the songwriting team of The Pajama Game, Damn Yankees is filled with hit songs including "Two Lost Souls" and the sultry favorite, "Whatever Lola Wants, Lola Gets." The Paper Mill Playhouse production will slide into Seattle this April. The creative team includes direction by Mark S. Hoebee (Paper Mill's Producing Artistic Director), music direction by Ben Whiteley, and choreography by Denis Michael Jones.
