A spectacular visual feast, this adaptation of Disney's much-loved film transports you to a dazzling world that explodes with glorious colors, stunning effects and enchanting music. At its heart is the powerful and moving story of Simba, and his epic journey from wide-eyed cub to his destined role as King of the Pridelands.
The Lion King won six 1998 Tony Awards: Best Musical, Best Scenic Design (Richard Hudson), Best Costume Design (Julie Taymor), Best Lighting Design (Donald Holder), Best Choreography (Garth Fagan) and Best Direction of a Musical, making Taymor the first woman in theatrical history bestowed with the honor. The Lion King has also earned more than 70 major arts awards including the 1998 NY Drama Critics Circle Award for Best Musical, the 1999 Grammy for Best Musical Show Album, the 1999 Evening Standard Award for Theatrical Event of the Year and the 1999 Laurence Olivier Awards for Best Choreography and Best Costume Design.

September 13, 2023Dear Readers, I’m thrilled to say that my opinion of “Tina, The Tina Turner Musical”, currently playing at the Paramount, has changed. I saw it way back in 2018 in London and was not impressed. The show, while having tons of talent, also had tons of problems. Fast forward to now and it seems like some of those issues have been fixed. Some, but not all. But still making for a better evening than I expected.

Paramount continues to provide world-class entertainment—including dance, music, Broadway-caliber theatre, and children’s programming—for an annual audience of 350,000 patrons from over 250 communities. Over 40,000 of those patrons are proud to be Paramount Broadway Series subscribers. In addition, we’ve expanded operations with the recently-opened Paramount School of the Arts and are currently in the process of renovating Copley Theatre for our upcoming Bold Series, a provocative new theater adventure. At our sister venue, RiverEdge Park, we welcome well over 100,000 patrons each summer to enjoy some of the best artists in live music, including KISS, Steve Miller Band and much more.
